Power Explanation: Simon shares numerous features similar to those of a primate. Abilities include vastly increased physical strength and agility, dexterity with feet and a prehensile tail which can support more than twice his weight. He is able to scale almost any surface provided there are some hand-holds or surfaces to push off of and is able to climb at any angle, even upside down. Simon's mutation is purely physical and can only be improved by physical training. He shows no signs of any other power-based abilities.

History: Unlike many other mutants Simon's mutation was detected at birth. He was able to lead a fairly normal life but had to keep his tail hidden from the other students during elementary school. Normal activities like playing school sports or going to the community pool were unavailable to him as his parents feared the other kids might tease or shun him. This upset Simon a lot as a child because he was extremely active and loved physical games. The Xavier Institute offered him the chance to have a more open school experience around people who would not mock him and he spend much of his high school years at the school. Upon graduating he jumped at the chance to enrol at XI's London campus. This was in part due to his positive experiences at the New York school but also an excellent opportunity to see the UK and the rest of Europe.

While not a brilliant student Simon maintains strong marks and is average in his studies. He may sometimes make mistakes but this is largely due to the relatively new freedom he's been given to be himself rather than hiding his mutation from others. He is an average guy with good intentions but doesn't always do what's right or smart. Simon has a passion for basketball and will pick up just about any other game if given the chance. He hates being spoken to and treated like an idiot because of his mutation, many people assuming that he has the intellect of a caveman. Such accusations or treatment can really set off his temper.

Physical Description: Simon is about 5'10 with brown hair. His arms are longer than average in proportion to his body and his feet are shaped like those of a chimp or simian. He possesses a prehensile tail which is approximately 7' long and sways and twists with his moods, at rest it forms a sort of S shape behind him. His face is human, wild brown hair with bushy sideburns though he does have more rounded ears and elongated canine teeth. His body hair is really only thick on the back of his hands and feet, thinning out before the joints in his limbs. He has brown eyes and is of average complexion. While not particularly ape-like the combination of a slightly upturned nose and protruding bottom lip certainly add to his other simian traits.

Other notable abilities: During his time at Xaviers Institute Simon received extensive martial arts training. With the assistance of the teachers and the danger room he was instructed in the art of Kung Fu. He specializes in the Hou Quan and Tai Shing Pek Kwar techniques, the latter focused mostly on the Standing Monkey variant. Because of his unique strengths, proportions and acrobatic abilities instruction came easy and he quickly excelled in using these styles offensively and defensively.

During his last two years at the Institute in Salem Simon made the shift from training with a bo staff to a three-section staff. He most often uses it as a regular staff but likes the flexibility of the alternate uses available to him. His favorite weapon is a specially crafted titanium-steel three-section staff with built in stun rods at either end. The energy sections of the staff are not activated by any switch or button but by a pressure-sensing mechanism inside the center of the staff which responds to the super-human strength Simon's hands possess. While the ends of the staff are where the energy is most powerful the electrical charge does travel to where each section of the staff joins to the center, acting as a deterrent to anyone who would try to grab and take his weapon from him. Simon's gloves are rubber-coated to help prevent accidental injury when handling the staff beyond the center. As traditional three-section staffs have each section as long as the user's arm it is longer than most staffs of that nature, approximately eight feet in length when combined.

Simon is also very adept at parkour.

I like this character and have no problems with him.

One thing you might want to consider though, is that we will regularly be having action scenes that Simon may not be able to participate in. If you want to be the damsel in distress type, or the regular college kid is beset by scary events type, that's more than fine.

However, you may want to consider a secondary mutation at some point so you can enjoy everything the board has to offer.

I think increased strength (an orangutan has the strength of three men in one arm after all), agility and climbing ability will be enough. I am actually trying to keep him fairly subdued. Not everyone can nuke cities with eye-lasers after all. But thanks for your concern, I'll beef up the description a bit.

Like I said, it's no problem, the University could certainly stand to have a few students who can't quite make an X-Team, or who are on a team that deals with lesser threats.
