Downtime 2, Week 2: Disciplinary Action

[Onyx]

Onyx shakes of Sara's hand, turning to her.

"He bought me," Onyx says, "He's my Master."

[Sara Stanton]

Sara just stares at the girl for a few seconds, trying to wrap her head around the idea of slavery apparently happening In London. "You... what? And you're going back to him!?"

[Onyx]

"Of course," Onyx says, "If I'm late, I'll be punished."

[Sara Stanton]

"You... won't get punished for what I did to him though, right?" she asks, sounding increasingly worried.

[Onyx]

Onyx doesn't answer. She just turns away and starts to walk through the shadows.

[Sara Stanton]

Fuckfuckfuck, bloody hell, you can't let her take the fall for that. God knows what they'll do to her! Hoping the girl's powers work similar to Jayda's she reaches out and grabs her arm as she disappears into the shadows.

[Onyx]

((After the poker game))

Onyx steps through the shadows back into the alley, holding Sara's hand.

[Sara Stanton]

Stepping out of the shadow-portal-thingie Sara stumbles slightly, clutching her stomach. She looks like she's about to puke but manages to steady herself again. "Holy shit... okay... alley, cold, London again... Jesus Christ, did I just play a poker game with myself as the stake?"

[Onyx]

"Yes, ma'am," Onyx says, "You did."

[Sara Stanton]

"Okay. Okayokayokay. That guy no longer owns you, right? Even if he didn't seem to agree with that."

[Onyx]

"You won me fair and square," Onyx agrees.

[Sara Stanton]

"No no no. I didn't win you. I won your freedom for you."

[Onyx]

Onyx shakes her head and quotes, "''If you win, you get the girl.'"

Onyx pauses, looking worried, "Do you not want me, Mistress?"

[Sara Stanton]

"I wanted to win you, but not for myself. I wanted to free you so you don't have to serve anyone..."

[Onyx]

Onyx looks absolutely terrified by what Sara is saying.

"Are you dismissing me?" Onyx asks, her voice edged with desperation.

[Sara Stanton]

"But... that's a good thing! You can do whatever you want now." she smiles softly, not really getting why that is upsetting the girl so much.

[Onyx]

Onyx shakes her head, "If I am dismissed, I must return to the pens for reassignment."

"But if that is what Mistress wants, I understand."

[Sara Stanton]

"Nonono! I don't want that. Okay, we'll get this sorted out. Before you go back to that life I better take you along to the Uni. Maybe someone can help you there..." Poor girl. they must have messed her head up real bad if she'd just go back to being a slave like that.

[Onyx]

"Alright, Mistress," Onyx says, looking slightly better at the news she wasn't being dismissed just yet.

[Sara Stanton]

"Can you bring us to Xavier's University or should I call a cab?"

[Onyx]

"I'm not sure where that is, ma'am," Onyx says sounding apologetic, "I'm sorry."

[Sara Stanton]

"That's fine. Don't worry about it." she smiles at the girl before stepping out of the alley and waving down a cab.

[Onyx]

Onyx follows Sara, looking surprised but remaining silent.

[Sara Stanton]

"Oh and my name is Sara. Sara Evans. Your name's Onyx, right?"

[Onyx]

Onyx nods, "Yes, Mistress."
