Daniel shifted in his sleep, his mind feeling peaceful for the first time in... actually, Kyra would have never felt it feeling peaceful like this.

With some surprise, as she looked closer, Kyra realized that the calmness was coming from her being in his mind. She was even more surprised to notice that a desire to figure her out had motivated his interest in peeking into other people's minds.

Seeing that, though, seemed to trigger Daniel's shields. To her astral vision, a wall of fire seemed to be slowly expanding over his memories. Peeking much more probably wouldn't be a good idea.

Kyra frowned a bit at that, but decided to respect Daniel's privacy, withdrawing from his mind so that she was monitoring his emotions, but not actively looking for anything.

Kyra sat for a long time, watching him sleep. After awhile she started to feel tired herself, and after she carefully reinforced her shields so that both of them would be protected from errant emotions, she lay down beside him and fell asleep.

Daniel woke up during the night, wearily opening his eyes, and finding Kyra tucked up against him, his arm wrapped over her from behind. He considered a moment, before, taking a deep breath, wrapping his arm around a bit more securely and closing his eyes.

After several hours of sleep, an urgent need to pee caused Kyra to wake up, and she gently lifted Daniel's arm off of her.

Daniel rolled his eyes slightly at the feelings he picked up from her. Then, slowly, he leaned his head forward, kissing her neck.

Daniel let her drift off again, and he himself fell asleep, again, in short order.

Granted, he didn't seem to be quite idle while he slept, as when they awoke, his hand had crept under her shirt.

"I do have a boyfriend, you know." Kyra said, ignoring the question, although since Daniel was inside her shields, he would no doubt notice that she wasn't offended by what was going on. But she wasn't exactly comfortable with it either.

Daniel caught her gaze as she rolled over. "Door's over there," he answered simply. "You know I won't force you into anything you don't want." Then, before she could move, he leaned in and kissed her.
