((So named 'cause I'ma gonna be in Tokyo for most of this week :P))

Last week's results!

Jayda v. John
A real close one, but Jayda's shadow-powers seem to overcome John's darkforce strength. Winner: Jayda. John is Eliminated

Ryan v. Zero

A flyer in open space seems to win normally. Winner: Ryan. Zero is eliminated.

Kathrin v. Alex

Kathrin is able to use her gravity powers to keep Alex motionless, for the win. Winner: Kathrin

This week's matches!

ELIMINATION MATCH
Alex "Foxfire" Campion (1-1) v. Simon "Enkidu" Kipling (1-1)

Location: A pirate ship, 11 PM
Fitting for Simon's costume

Veronica "Alice" Freud (1-0) v. Rhiannon "Aquarius" Nightridge (1-0)
Location: The frozen-over Thames, 6 AM
Water versus wide open spaces...

ELIMINATION MATCH
William "Gwion" Stanton (1-1) v. Calvin "Cyber" Strong (1-1)

Location: The Old Bailey Courthouse, 11 PM
Tink does not get to interfere on either's behalf :P

Will-Calvin is a very interesting matchup. Will's normal strategy of 'suffocate or bludgeon' isn't going to work as well against AI-operated Cal; but Cal's strategy of "electrocute the shit out of him and then shoot him" won't work very well either--no sniper points and if you think for a second Will's gonna shift into anything conductive you're nuts--clay, rubber, and wood primarily, will hamper Cal's electrical discharges. Cal's sniper abilities are going to go in the toilet, anyway, because it's a small arena; and bullets won't do too much damage to Will even when they do hit, though he obviously can't just stand there and take it.

I wonder how Cal's circuits will do with clay shoved up inside his head, or trapped in a clay-quicksand-type-pit...immobilization is probably Will's best bet...

While good insulating materials, clay, rubber, wood and the like aren't the most durable materials. Where his electricity fails, Cal would make sure his pistols made up for it in piercing damage to vital mobility points: a knee here, an ankle there. Cal can take advantage of any extreme shifts to shear of more significant portions of Will's mass. And please remember his detatch-and-retrieve maneuver with his bionic arm that he did to save tink... in a pinch, a similar maneuver can be used to grab onto a balcony overhead and reel himself out of danger.

This is one of the situations where we need to take advantage of the "dealing out more damage will equal a winner" method, I think.

My votes:
Rhiannon - I mean, she's on a body of water. One crack in the ice, which running water can always provide, and it's over.

Simon - Again, the whole 'deal out enough damage and declare the winner' deal.

I gotta admit, Ronnie is at a disadvantage here. She's up against someone who controls water; the very stuff they're standing on. I think her only real chance would be not to shift at all but just to rush in and try to punch and kick Rhi before she has a chance to do anything tricky. If she drops to puddle form Ronnie would probably get large and stomp a hole in the ice where Rhi is and hope that the current would sweep her away.

Simon's tactics; get in fast and close and try to toss Alex off the boat before he inhales too many hallucinogenics. Simple and hopefully effective.

Voting for Will.

Alex has a lot of material that he can use to his advantage. Rotting wood for traps, and wood also makes for a good surface to stick too by growing into it. Getting him off the boat won't be easy.

Normally I would end the voting tomorrow, but I'm travelling.

I've been ending it at ~4 PM Monday, Japan time, and I'll keep doing that...only Pacific Standard Time instead. So, one last day to vote :)
