Maya and Miranda's Room: Wolves Outside the Walls

[Maya Mills]

"It's not a hangup," Maya says. "But I'm not a lesbian or bisexual or anything so it's just kind of...unsettling."

[Miranda Weaver]

"Oh..." Miranda tilted her head as she considered that. "I suppose that does complicate things somewhat."

[Maya Mills]

"And she's my best friend," Maya says. "And I'm pretty sure she likes someone else. A boy. So, she's probably not interested."

Maya groans.

[Miranda Weaver]

"The 'best friend' part is less of a concern. I'm given to understand that's actually desirable. The 'interested in someone else' is the real issue."

[Maya Mills]

"Not all of the things I perceive as obstacles make sense," Maya admits. "I can't get into line for lunch if someone in line is wearing red."

[Miranda Weaver]

"That's rough," Miranada sympathized.

[Maya Mills]

Maya shrugs, "I'm used to it. Sort of."

"Never really had to deal with it in this sort of context before," Maya mumbles.

[Miranda Weaver]

"I was really lucky. The first person I ever crushed on was crushing on me too. I'm a big proponent of 'who you like is who you like' regardless of gender."

[Maya Mills]

"I'm very happy that things were so easy for you," Maya says. She didn't sound happy at all!

[Miranda Weaver]

"Maybe you should just tell her?" Miranda was starting to sound really hesitant like she was afraid she would shove her foot in her mouth again.

[Maya Mills]

"Probably," Maya admits. She groans, "Things are usually way more simple than I make them."

[Miranda Weaver]

"I'd offer to try to get a premonition for how it would go, but those don't always work out long term."

[Maya Mills]

"Don't worry about it," Maya says. "It probably wouldn't help me get past the whole nervous want to throw up anxiety stuff. Thanks though."

[Miranda Weaver]

"If there's anything I can do to help, just let me know. My promise stands though. I won't say anything to anyone unless you tell me it's okay."

[Maya Mills]

"Thanks. Just having someone to complain to kind of helps," Maya says. "...What about you? Anything you want to bitch about?"

[Miranda Weaver]

"Not really. I mean there are things I could bitch about like my girlfriend confusedly ogling another girl, but that's just more confusing than upsetting."

[Maya Mills]

Maya winces, "Yeah, that would be pretty confusing, I guess."

[Miranda Weaver]

"I think she was just shocked, but still..."

[Maya Mills]

"I think it's pretty normal to, you know, notice people you think are attractive," Maya says. "Still. Kind of rude if you're being blatant about it around your girlfriend."

[Miranda Weaver]

"Well I kind of stumbled into the situation. And it was really the only time I've noticed. And to be fair the girl in question was normally a frumpy dresser so seeing her in more revealing clothing was kind of strange."

[Maya Mills]

"But did it bother you?" Maya asks. "I mean, it seems like it did, otherwise you wouldn't have brought it up."

"A little bit I guess maybe? I don't really know."
