Jen's Room 1 A.M. - Special Delivery

[Haley Crusek]

Haley padded down the hallway, bleary eyed, from the direction of the kitchen the day after her brawl with Jen, a box in her hands. She placed it in front of the door and walked towards her room.

There was folded note affixed to the package.

Jen,
Things got kinda....intense in the kitchen the other day. I said some stupid shit that I didn't mean because I was pissed off and stressed out. I don't wanna fight no more. I'm sorry. I hope these cookies taste better than the batter. Text me if you wanna talk or something.

[Jennifer Newgate]

The next day would find the box torn to shreds along with the note and the cookies mostly devoured. It almost looks as if a dog had gotten to the package, which people with light sleep in the nearby rooms might back up with accounts of growling in the middle of the night.

Haley frowned in confusion at the package when she saw it the next morning on her way to her run, and again when she was coming back from it at a much more reasonable hour of the morning (though still probably pretty early for most teens). Pausing for a moment, she reached out into the room beyond the door to see if she could tell if Jen and Winn were asleep before reaching out to knock.

Jennifer is out cold, tangled up in the sheets with one leg hanging over the edge of the bed. She's snoring.

[Haley Crusek]

Haley brought her hand down before knocking, chewing on her lip and wondering if she should wake up the girl who had decked her just barely two days ago. She picked up the package to see if she could tell if the note got read, or even if there was a psychic impression of anyone who'd touched it.

[Jennifer Newgate]

If there is any psychic impression on it it's a sense of feral growls and wild devouring of cookies.

[Haley Crusek]

The hell...well...maybe she was really high last night...or maybe Vertie had her pet hedgehog running loose or something she thought as she put the package down, standing in front of the doorway debating whether to knock and wake her up or not.

[Jennifer Newgate]

Jennifer lets out a particularly loud snore as she turns around in her sleep.

[Haley Crusek]

Gah, she's still asleep. God damnit. I can't even get an apology right...

Haley walked down the hallway towards her room to shower. Maybe Jen would be done after that.

[Jennifer Newgate]

By the time Haley comes back Jenn is awake and busy gathering up the remains of the cookie present. Her hair is still in a braid and she's put on fresh clothes but she doesn't look like she showered.

[Haley Crusek]

Haley was walking down the hallway rubbing her temples when she noticed Jen outside her room.

"H-hi, Jen. I...made you cookies and left you a note to apologize for...kinda. Everything, I guess. Did you get them, or did something get into the box before you?"

[Jennifer Newgate]

Jennifer eyes Haley suspiciously. "Something must have gotten to them..." she says carefully while quickly gathering up all the shreds of paper.

[Haley Crusek]

"...well shit," she sighed.

"I...listen. I said some awful shit last night. I didn't mean it, and I'm sorry. I still wish you'd like...not get in people's heads without asking, but...I dunno."

[Jennifer Newgate]

"A plus apology, would piss off again." she mumbles. She seems kind of preoccupied with getting Haley out of her hair for the most part.

[Haley Crusek]

"I...okay...never mind," she said, catching the preoccupation. "See you around, I guess..,"

She moved past Jen, then paused and turned back to her. "And...I'm not interested in Graham...didn't know you were...sorry."

[Jennifer Newgate]

Jenn freezes and stands up straight from where she was picking up scraps. "Now who's poking around?" she growls.

[Haley Crusek]

"I didn't know until Brigid just told me, honest," she held up her hands defensively.

[Jennifer Newgate]

"Whatever." she relents. Unfortunately (in her opinion) her tendency to listen to peoples' thoughts also means she knows when someone is genuinely sorry or hurt. "Thanks for the cookies. Theoretically."

[Haley Crusek]

Haley's shields were basically nonexistent at the moment her avatar basically dozing on a rocking chair. As such, she certainly seemed to be genuine, though there was no hiding a profound dislike of Jen's telepathic ethics.

"You're welcome...just a little something to apologize and...I dunno. I feel like we should be sticking together since we're both teeps, you know? "

[Jennifer Newgate]

"Yes, maybe we can be omg besties!" she says, dripping with sarcasm.

[Haley Crusek]

Haley glared at her. "Just trying to be civil, but you know what, fuck it, whatever."

[Jennifer Newgate]

"God, do you take everything as a personal affront? All I'm saying is that we're way too different to 'stick together' just because we're both telepaths. Case in point."

[Haley Crusek]

"You could have said that instead of just fucking mocking me. But you have no manners so whatever."

[Jennifer Newgate]

"And you apparently inherited Kaltiera's stick in the butt. Chill out for once. God."

[Haley Crusek]

"Oh please. That bitch could make diamonds in her ass if she clenched any tighter. I don't think she's done a single fun thing in her life. Me? I just don't like having shade thrown at me constantly by someone like you, who really before the other night, I'd done fucking *nothing* to, other than give a suggestion on the first day of school."

[Jennifer Newgate]

"You just don't get it, I don't need telepathy to notice that. And that's why I don't like you."

[Haley Crusek]

"Well I guess we can agree on that, bitch." Haley flipped her off and resumed walking down the hallway towards her room.

Jennifer rolls her eyes and goes back into the room with the ravaged package, slamming her door.
