Sept 8 - Common Room - Not your usual homework

[Theresa McMasters]

"In order: Don't know. Maybe. I'm not really the dress type. She doesn't seem like the dress type. I'm not sure that's how it works. Maybe. And yes."

[Brigid Plunder]

"Yeah, I'm thinking like... more steak sauce than perfume," she teases.

[Jean-Louise Murphy]

"Eww. What the heck? No, wear something nice," Murphy says. "Something pretty. With sparkles!"

[Theresa McMasters]

"Sparkles are not a big component of my wardrobe."

[Brigid Plunder]

"You could wear your costume, if you want her brain to short out."

[Jean-Louise Murphy]

"Costume?" Murphy asks. "You have a costume? What does it look like?"

[Theresa McMasters]

Theresa pulled out her phone and found a picture, showing it to Murphy. "It's my mission outfit and hardly appropriate date attire, unless the date is going to involve chasing down bad guys."

[Brigid Plunder]

"Oh, I still think she'd really dig it."

"I've come to take you on our date tonight. Did I mention I can fly?"

"Swoooon."

[Jean-Louise Murphy]

"It has a cape! That's amazing!" Murphy says.

[Theresa McMasters]

"Again... not... really... appropriate... date... attire," Theresa said. "And the cape is still on probation. I'm not sure I'm keeping it."

[Brigid Plunder]

"Pff. It's at least half as ridiculous as what people expect me to wear."

[Jean-Louise Murphy]

"Why? Capes are great!" Murphy says. "More people should wear them. I'd totally wear a cape if it wouldn't get stuck inside walls and other objects all the time."

[Theresa McMasters]

"I'm still trying to figure out how to work with it. And not get tangled in it." Good, let's talk about the cape and not the fact that I'm going out with your sister.

[Jean-Louise Murphy]

"I guess I get it..." Murphy says glumly. "...What are you going to wear instead? Ooo, you should wear something sexy. People like sexy."

[Brigid Plunder]

"Just... show up. I think you'll be fine."

[Theresa McMasters]

"Yeah, showing up is usually a good thing to do. And I'm not ready to pour on the sexy yet."

[Jean-Louise Murphy]

"Probably for the best," Murphy says.

[Brigid Plunder]

"I'm just glad you two hit it off. I think that'll be really good."

[Theresa McMasters]

"Glad you approve, Brigid. We'll see how things go. I think it'll be good for both of us either way."

[Brigid Plunder]

"Well I know I don't, y'know, have to approve, but it's still cool."

[Jean-Louise Murphy]

"Who is it anyway?" Murphy asks. "Or is that rude to ask?"

[Theresa McMasters]

"Not rude to ask, but I'm not really sure who she's told what, so it's not really my place to say just yet without permission from her."

[Jean-Louise Murphy]

"Oh. All right," Murphy says. She sounds brokenhearted.

[Brigid Plunder]

"It's like kicking a puppy."

[Theresa McMasters]

"I'm sorry, Murphy."

[Jean-Louise Murphy]

"It's okay," Murphy sighs heavily. "I understand."

[Brigid Plunder]

"I get the feeling that if you bribe her with ice cream she'll stop moping."

[Theresa McMasters]

Theresa seemed to consider that for a moment, "You guys want to go grab some ice cream?"

[Jean-Louise Murphy]

"Yes!" Murphy says, all smiles once again.

[Brigid Plunder]

"You're welcome," Brigid grins.

[Theresa McMasters]

Theresa looked at the time on her phone, "If we hurry, we can probably catch the bus."

[Brigid Plunder]

"Works. Not that walking back to campus at night in Maldon is super-dangerous or anything."

She scoops the Jenga tower into its box.

[Jean-Louise Murphy]

"I could drive," Murphy suggests.

[Brigid Plunder]

"Iiiiii... don't think that's a great idea."

"Don't you only have a license in, like, Namibia?"

[Jean-Louise Murphy]

"It's good in the UK for, like, 6 months!" Murphy protests.

"...or it would be if Murphy hadn't taken it," Murphy mumbles.

[Theresa McMasters]

"I think we'll be good on the bus," Theresa said.

[Brigid Plunder]

"Yeah, let me get my coat and I'll be right out."
