Common Room: Short and Sweet

Up until recently maintained as a museum, the childhood home of the Braddock family has been pressed into service as additional housing and classroom space for the Institute. Additionally, the increased demands have led to the main ballroom being converted into a cafeteria for both the Institute and those University students on a meal plan. Student reactions have been mixed, and reports of paranormal activity are as of yet unsubstantiated.

"Owies," Murphy says, rubbing her head. "And I have no idea what you're talking about."

She sticks her tongue out at Jennifer.

..I know you can hear me.

And that's when Murphy started singing "The Song That Never Ends" in her head. Loudly.

"Yes!" Murphy laughs, "I win!"

She swerves dangerously around another car.

"I think we're almost there?"

"Yeah." she says, glancing down at her phone to double-check. "I think it's the one over there." she adds, pointing down the road and at a driveway leading to what looks like an old farmhouse converted into a residential building.

Murphy continues to laugh extremely hard. Apparently, she enjoys puns.

"Come on, let's get murdered." she says and heads for the house.

Needless to say that they don't get murdered but instead find a young family renovating the place and soon they find themselves with an old corner couch, a coffee table and a box with a possibly broken water heater and a microwave that's missing it's door.

"You know... Come to think of it, we probably should have dumped out some of the books before we left." Jennifer notes as she looks over their haul next to the van.

"39... 39..." he muttered, googling the address. "All right. Going to be a minute, I don't know that place."

He shook his head and threw a portal up to go to the front gate. Two more portals took him a good ways down the road before he stopped and checked his phone for the direction.

"Got it," he said, half-truthfully. He started portal jumping, throwing the exit portal up as far ahead as he could see each time, and finally (after overshooting it once in each direction) found the right street. He started jumping down the road, noticed the addresses going in the wrong direction, turned around, and started heading toward number 39. Where he found the girls (as stated) next to a van. "There," he said, a little winded. "Wasn't as bad as I thought."
