"What does it feel like when you change?"

"Weird. You become aware of every bit of you," Maya says. "Like your senses are stretching out beyond the borders of your own body."

"Beyond your own body? How so?"

[Maya Mills]

Maya considers this carefully, "You can feel your body. As a sort of image of who you are, but when you're smoke everything extends out beyond that image."

"Interesting. And not as different from the way I see and feel things as you thought," she said with a smile.

Maya smiles, looking embarassed, "Yeah. I guess not."
