Power Training: New semester

The site of the recently restored Braddock Lighthouse. Aircraft hangars and other X-Men facilities, including a Cerebra unit and the Danger Room have been constructed around the foundations of the lighthouse.

"Was' the matter, mate? Going a little soft in tha middle?"

Eric then took a deep breath, and gave a very unclassy bellow of a laugh.

She seemed to be starting to level out just a bit. The issue wasn't so much that she didn't know how to work the wings, it was the fact of concentration.Right now her eyes were closed tight.

This is the song that never enddddddds....yes it goes on and on my friendssssss.....
SHHH!
Some people! Started singing it not knowing what it was! And they'll continue singing it forever just because this is the song that never endddddddds...

It was definitely hampering her concentration.

Still freaking out, Elk-Graham charged in Alex's direction.

(To clarify, he needs stopping.)

Steph's eyes widened as she noticed the blur. "Alex! Move! Danger Room, isolate Graham!" Steph charged over, shifting slightly to boost her muscle mass but not so much to induce a panic.

Maya panics at the sight of Graham charging and shifts, swiftly swirling around Steph and the elk boy as an anaesthetic cloud.

The grogginess overcoming Graham aided the DR safeties in gently restraining the rampaging Roosevelt Elk in coils of gentle but firm force. He struggled weakly, nostrils flaring.

Steph caught a deep breath of Maya, and immediately felt woozy. She stumbled, tripped, and fell to her hands and knees, her vision blurring as she crawled forward, trying to get away from the smoke. She forced herself to completely shift to her werewolf form, knowing her ability to heal and fight things off worked a whole lot better while shifted.

"Maya...focus...on...togetherness..." she growled woozily. "It's...okay...."

Maya reforms between the two, looking scared and embarrassed. So, basically just normal Maya.

"I'm sorry. Sorry, sorry, sorry," Maya says quickly. "Are you okay?"

Steph tried to stand up but fell flat on her ass so she sat there for a moment focusing on breathing regularly.

"I'm fine," she said as reassuringly as an enormous werewolf can growl.

Power Training: New semester

Postby Stephanie Kaltiera » Thu Oct 16, 2014 5:06 pm

"Every bone in my body breaks and rearranges itself every time I shift," she said, sounding a bit less woozy. "Takes a lot to take me down."

She sounded friendly enough, but it's kind of hard to get a real feel for the emotional state of a terrifying half woman half beast. And she was probably still very frightening to a certain restrained elk.

Ryan, high enough in the air to be out of antler reach, swung around Graham and landed, radiating oddly soothing light. "Easy, there," he said, moving toward he elk with an openness and reassuring lack of jerky movements. At the very least, he was a good buffer between Graham and everyone else.

Elise manages to fly back up to the drop off of the cliff before she notices things are happening with the others. Slowly she works on flying over towards the group, but not too close.

"Awww, he's just scared. I read this story one time about scared moose in Canada that like...obliterated a car." She probably wasn't helping the situation, but she seemed to think she was.

Intelligence slowly returned to Elk-Graham's eyes as his breathing slowed. He gradually shifted back to his human self.

Eric finished his adjustments and closed the console.

Taking another few tentative jumps, he got set, and then took off, quickly accelerating to a blurry afterimage.

The smell of burning oil returned, but was not as explicit this time.

After a few laps, he brushed past Alex a little too close, causing a rush of wind to blow into his face. It was accidental, I'm sure.

Elise looks over the side of the cliff again, beaming a smile.

I can do this.

And so she jumps off the cliff in a swan-like dive, letting her wings catch the wind so she drifts with ease.

Not bad. You should do a flip.

Frankie knew that she couldn't do a flip. But she believed she could prove him wrong, so she tried it. She made the mistake of flipping forward rather than pulling up and flipping backward. As she went forward, she squealed a bit as she started plummeting down towards the pit.

Ready to know what's down there?
