Sep. 4th: Sound and Fury

[Winifred Winters]

Winn wasn't falling for the same trick twice. She pivoted around the portal gracefully, turning the spin into a kick aimed at Anika.

[Anika Sloan]

As she sees the kick coming, she drops to dodge and does her own sweeping kick very low towards the ankle of the leg Winn is standing on to try to knock her down. Her eyes are now lit with fire and it's clear she is on the very edge of completely snapping and losing herself.

"Don't."

It wasn't really clear who she was directing that to.

[Winifred Winters]

Anika swept Winn off her feet and the girl landed hard on the ground. It didn't look like she was done yet though, as she snatched up a handful of dirt and threw it at Anika's face.

"Say 'please'," Winn says.

[Paul Valmont]

Nope nope nope nope.

Paul didn't know what Winn's problem was. He didn't know why Anika was antagonizing her. He didn't know why anyone was taking any of this shit seriously. But he knew one thing:

He was sick of crazy bitches deciding that everything was a reason to fight and hit things and cut things and whatever.

He made a face, popping open a portal under Winn. He threw the other end up in a normal orientation, so that she'd find herself 'falling' across the ground about ten feet away from everyone.

[Anika Sloan]

She reaches up and shields her eyes as the dirt is thrown into them. "Fuck."

Anika, let it go. You don't want to hurt her. Her conscience was getting harder and harder to listen to at the sound of the boiling rage in her mind. At this point she is not looking aggressive in her actions. If anything, she's playing defense...for now.

[Winifred Winters]

"Not the word I was looking fo — fuck!" Winn shouted as she started falling. She pulled her legs up into a tumble, but it didn't help much and she ended up just slamming her head into the ground. Hard.

She wasn't moving. Probably unconscious. Which is super bad for you.

[Anika Sloan]

Hearing Winn's words cut off, she tries to wipe the dirt away from her eyes and look around. She can barely make out the figure of Winn on the ground. "Damn it all..." She makes her way over to Winn, lowering herself and trying to see what she could about the extensiveness of the nasty knock-out. "Help me out here." She says to Paul. "I can't see well. She didn't bust her head open, did she?"

[Winifred Winters]

Winn was non-responsive, but breathing. Always a good sign. She was also bleeding from her nose and a nasty cut on her head. Not as promising.

[Anika Sloan]

As she waits for Paul to determine if it's a yes or no, she reaches down and pats very, very gently at Winn's head to feel for wetness.

[Paul Valmont]

"She shouldn't have. She only had a few inches to fall," Paul said as he got up.

[Winifred Winters]

A dazed Winn started to awaken, blinking her eyes at the bleary shape in front of her. After a moment, she wildly pushed herself away from Anika with a look of terror on her face.

"What do you want?" Winn says, still looking kind of unsteady. Her eyes have a glazed over look and she appears to be staring at something behind Anika. "Why don't you just leave me alone already?!"

[Anika Sloan]

Anika raises a brow, finally getting most of the dirt from her eyes. She turns and looks behind her, then back to Winn. "You can't tell me you hit your head *that* hard..."

[Winifred Winters]

A pair of golden eyes that only Winn can see hover behind Anika. The girl takes one hesitant step backwards. Then another.

Then she turns and runs away from the pair.

[Paul Valmont]

"Come to Xavier's, they said. You'll be safe there, they said," Paul griped.

[Anika Sloan]

"....what the actual fuck just happened?"

[Paul Valmont]

"You think I know? All of a sudden I have a crazy bitch trying to kill me. Again."

[Veronica Glarette]

"Again? Bloody hells, you're on a roll. Seems the ladies like you. Aren't you lucky." She rubs at her eyes a bit more, reaching to get a cigarette.
