Sept 3 - You Flocked Up.

[Samantha McManus]

Shoes click down the hardwood hallway floor towards Vivienne's room in precise, measured steps. Those in the hall's rooms get the distinct impression of birds perching nearby, though none can be seen.

The footsteps stop.

There is a knock at Vivienne's door.

[Vivienne Chinnoir]

Vivienne answered in her formal gown, her pack was packed and resting beside the door, the door to her room was open and her room was bare again. The bed was stripped and the borrowed bed sheets and clothing where folded neatly on it with a slip of paper sitting on top each pile.

"Headmistress." Vivienne stepped aside, not looking up.

[Samantha McManus]

"Were you planning on leaving?" She quirks a brow.

[Vivienne Chinnoir]

"Only if that is your judgment." She closed the door and stood beside her pack and scabbard.

[Samantha McManus]

"Yet you seem to have assumed in advance."

[Vivienne Chinnoir]

"I gave my word and then I broke it. The ones who speak in your name were most assured of my error and they were right...though the male was most vexing." She lightly bit her lip.

[Samantha McManus]

"I've just had a talk with Mister Gabriel and Miss Kaltiera."

"It strikes me though, that if you were perfect in the first place, you wouldn't be here to learn."

"As such, doesn't it rather defeat the purpose to expel you this early in?"

[Vivienne Chinnoir]

"Many before me have walked the pathways of this realm and learned much. I may not have a library or a computer so close at hand, but I can learn from observation. I will return with that knowledge to offer the Courts."

[Samantha McManus]

"Or you can stay here, acknowledge you've a ways to go, and strive to do better."

[Vivienne Chinnoir]

"I can do that, Headmistress." She bowed her head and finally looked up. "I will no longer walk with Caledfwlch. I will...do better."

[Samantha McManus]

"For what it's worth, Mister Gabriel has agreed to a duel in the danger room, to satisfy your honor."

"But that's where I expect the swordplay to stay unless it's an emergency, aye?"

[Vivienne Chinnoir]

"Aye. I will accept an apology for making me look a fool." She was beginning to stand taller.

[Samantha McManus]

"...I don't think you're going to quite get that."

[Vivienne Chinnoir]

"Then regaining my honor from an honorless soul is worth nothing. I shall avoid conflict with Gabriel."

[Samantha McManus]

"He's a bit put off because he helps out with teaching the younger children. As such, you rather threatened his charges."

[Vivienne Chinnoir]

"I attempted to explain my mistake and why I could not give him Caledfwlch, he then...removed his wings in response to my comparing Caledfwlch to them. The wolf maiden, Miss Kaltiera, was more reasonable and that is a rare statement for their kin."

[Samantha McManus]

"I suppose that's why it's wedged rather securely in a public place, with an enchantment to prevent anyone from touching it."

[Vivienne Chinnoir]

"A trick for a trick." She smiled slyly. "If he desired it so then he was welcome to it by Fey Law. I will reclaim it and keep it with in my chambers." She bowed her head in respect and to hide her amused smirk.

[Samantha McManus]

"I would appreciate it being moved soon. It's a bit disruptive."

[Vivienne Chinnoir]

"Of course, Headmistress."

[Samantha McManus]

"You're not operating by fey law though, and don't think I haven't noticed that you're trying to spite him here."

"It's not an attractive trait, Vivienne."

[Vivienne Chinnoir]

"I understand, though the last thing I want is to be attractive to him." She nodded her head though. "It was done for spite and I am no child."

[Samantha McManus]

"I mean more in a general sense. You're still setting yourself apart from them, perhaps even above them."

[Vivienne Chinnoir]

"I am most accustomed to being set apart. Change is not as easy as one may think, even one with my nature it is difficult at times."

[Samantha McManus]

"Then perhaps it's better that you spend a little time apart from the biggest thing that separates you from them."

[Vivienne Chinnoir]

"That would be?"

[Samantha McManus]

"The sword, though I'm fully aware that it isn't just a sword."

[Vivienne Chinnoir]

"I..I do not need it with me at all times...but the longer we are apart...the...the weaker I become. My natures will become unbalanced and then I will be a danger to those who've come here for sanctuary."

[Samantha McManus]

"What sort of danger?"

[Vivienne Chinnoir]

"I do not know. I have never had to worry about it. I was in the fey realm, directly connected to my magic, I had full control. Here I am cut off. I could change, I could go mad, I could loose all control, I could just fade and become mortal or simply die." She gave a little shrug.

[Samantha McManus]

"We should find out, and not the hard way. I know a few on campus that could make an educated guess."

[Vivienne Chinnoir]

"I would prefer to continue to not have to worry about it, but I will do as you request."

[Samantha McManus]

"I'd rather know under friendly, controlled conditions than in an emergency, aye?"

[Vivienne Chinnoir]

"Aye, so...I am to stay?" She looked at Sam.

[Samantha McManus]

"You're to stay."

"Retrieve your sword, and take it directly to Professor Weaver."

[Vivienne Chinnoir]

Vivienne bowed gracefully and paused only to rummage around her pack for her money box before leaving Sam and heading to the cafeteria lawn.

The headmistress then makes her way out as well.
