During Orientation: Miranda/Maya's Room

[Jennifer Newgate]

"Oh yeah..." she seems to realize. Followed by, "I'm a genius."

"Don't tell anybody we made it up though or it won't be as scary."

[Maya Mills]

"I'll do my best," Maya says.

[Jennifer Newgate]

"You can just say you heard it from me. That's not a lie, right?"

[Maya Mills]

"As long as no one asks if it's true or not, it'll be fine," Maya says.

[Jennifer Newgate]

"Everybody knows this stuff isn't real. It's just fun to pretend."

[Maya Mills]

"It can be. Sometimes," Maya says. "And sometimes you become trapped in a never-ending spiral of your own fears and superstitions; paralyzed by the idea of supernatural forces interfering with your life."

[Jennifer Newgate]

"And that's when you put the book down for a bit."

[Maya Mills]

Maya smiles, "That's good advice."

[Jennifer Newgate]

"Like I said. Genius." she says and rolls over so she's right-side up again and promptly falls off the bed.

[Maya Mills]

"Oh my God!" Maya says. "Are you okay?"

[Jennifer Newgate]

"Oww." she chuckles, holding the side of her head as she sits up on the floor. "Yeah, I think so."

[Maya Mills]

Maya kneels next to her, "Let me see. Are you bleeding? Can you hear a ringing sound in your ears? Any double vision or nausea?"

Each question was asked rapid fire without waiting for a response.

"We should take you to the medical building. You could have a subdural hematoma. Your skull could be filling with blood to the point that it compresses your brain into your spine and you die."

[Jennifer Newgate]

"I don't know... I'm kinda dizzy?" she says, suddenly not so sure anymore thanks to Maya's thoughts spilling over to her.

[Maya Mills]

"Yeah, we need to get you to the Medical Center, ASAP," Maya says. "I have a lot of fears, but killing someone immediately after becoming their friend is kind of towards the top of the list."

[Jennifer Newgate]

"You're just worried I'd haunt you..."

[Maya Mills]

Maya reaches out to give Jennifer a hand up, "I think it'd actually be worse if you didn't haunt me."

[Jennifer Newgate]

"That's the spirit." she says as she gets up with Maya's help.

[Maya Mills]

"Steady?" Maya asks, putting her arm around Jennifer's shoulder.

[Jennifer Newgate]

"Yeah, I'm good. My head just hurts a little."

[Maya Mills]

"Alright, let's get you checked out," Maya says, leading Jennifer to the door.
