Orientation - Refreshing Refreshments

Jennifer just rolls her eyes. You're the ones who freaked out about it. she thinks to herself before following Maya in no particular hurry.

Haley had been picking up bits and pieces of the whole exchange either from catching the surface thoughts or overhearing. Roland would notice she had a bit of a distant look behind her sunglasses.

You know, people usually get pretty pissy when you show that you know what other people are thinking, and it's usually way worse if something comes out that a person wouldn't actually want to share out loud... Sorry...I'm Haley. Couldn't help but overhear... she mindspoke to Jennifer.

You seem new, and I learned that the hard way last year...just trying to help avoid drama....there's enough of that shit around here as is.

"I hope you and my daughter have a good semester, Miss Haddock." He says with another pointed look to Kay. He'd clap her on the shoulder but, well, she's incredibly pointy.

"I will, Sir, Mister Plunder!" she says, nodding for emphasis.

"I prefer a little improvisation, but that's just me. Whatever the ladies would prefer."

"Can you put a twist on zis song with some off your improv? I would lof to hear it."

Ronnie stood up from the piano bench and gave Will's hair another little ruffle. "If I mess with it, it'll just be ragtime, faster and louder is my solution to everything. Why don't you show us what your spiders can really do?" She left his side to sit at the edge of the stage, legs dangling off of the edge.

"Eh, I don't want to freak people out on the first day here," Will chuckled, but two extra arms formed out of his shoulders, and started playing the high notes.

She is taken aback by this. Not so much fear or being freaked out by what he does, but it more of a fascination. To her, it's absolutely *awesome*, and she grins wide as she listens. Maybe I shouldn't be nervous after all.

Ronnie closed her eyes and leaned back. A nice breeze, warm sun, and some music. Life was pretty good sometimes. She hoped that this was having the same effect on the new students.

Barbara arrived, a little late, and hovered by the sodas.

Looking over to Ronnie she smiles. "He is not bad." She tilts her head a bit at the mention of the Morrigan. He couldn't possibly mean...nah. There's no way. Immediately dismisses the thought. He couldn't have meant THE Morrigan. Probably just another nickname. She takes a drink of her water.

Veronica couldn't suppress a smile. "I think you're doing an excellent job. Your English is far better than my French, at the very least."

Haley snapped out of her reverie.

"Telepathic drama over by the drinks earlier. Long story."

"Drama? At an orientation with high schoolers? Surely, you jest."

Veronica couldn't suppress a smile. "I think you're doing an excellent job. Your English is far better than my French, at the very least."

Beaming a smile to Ronnie, she dips her head. "I sank you for saying zat. Even in years off practicing, it is nossing compared to actual encounters."

She kicked her legs slightly. "So, Veronica... what is it that you do? If you don't mind me asking."

Ronnie laughed softly and shook her head, swaying slightly on the edge of the stage. "No, silly. I mean, what's your special talent? What brings you here to hang out with the cool kids like us?"

She turned and gestured to Will. "You've seen a bit of what Will can do. He's a really talented shapeshifter, there's very little he can't shape his silly putty into."

"Get-ting so-much bet-ter all-the-time..." Will said, sing-song.

The headmistress arrives on the edge of the festivities, and starts making her way towards the stage.

Any students who are psychically sensitive might well perceive the unseen flock of ravens that accompany her.

"Ah, My Lady has arrived," Will said, switching to some suitably stately-sounding tune.

Haley shivered a bit, sensing the flock. They always made her a bit uneasy.

Ronnie eeped softly and let herself drop from the stage, not waiting for Veronica's response.

"Here comes Ms. McManus. You'll like her, she's pretty awesome."

Before she can answer, looking a bit embarrassed, she gets a chill as she looks towards the headmistress. "Is she...?" She seems to be a bit taken aback by the feeling she has.

[Vivienne Chinnoir]

Vivienne moved into the clearing keeping to the fringes. Caledfwlch was more securely covered, but still on her back. Theresa had won getting her into a pair of jeans, but at the cost of letting Vivienne keep the long sword with a promise that it would remain covered and hidden.

The sword caused Roland Sackville to raise an eyebrow, but he held back for now.

Ryan similarly sized up the new arrival. Stretching his arms, he casually started walking about, casually placing himself between her and the group of high school kids.

Victor managed to find a little something to climb on top of and sit upon, ensuring that he'd still have a decent view of the stage even as the crowd began to form.

At this point, Veronica realized the crowd gathering and it made her nervous. As quietly as she could, she tried to step off towards more of the background, sighing in relief as she gets towards a more open area in the back.

The headmistress climbs the steps onto the stage and makes her way to the podium. She allows a few moments for things to settle.

The unseen flock lands at various points on and around the stage, perching.

Will wrapped up with a dramatic flourish, and closed the piano.

Vivienne tilted her head to the side, attempting to look beyond the very tall man who had just stepped into her line of sight. She was intent on watching the various groups before attempting to join anything. She was not going to repeat the mistakes she had made earlier.

"It's good to see all of you here. I'm Headmistress Samantha McManus, and it always warms my heart to see a fresh class of students on campus."

Pulling out her journal, she...takes a few notes. After realizing how 'dorky' that may look like, she stops, looking around awkwardly. Nice one, Veronica. You're bound to make yourself look like an idiot if you keep this up.

Will stood up and applauded.
