I13DT: Crossing the Streams

[Aria Nyx]

Out of nowhere Aria steps into the room where Ryan is waiting, her cheeks kind of red and her nose a bit runny, which is surely just due to the cold weather outside.

"Alright, I'm ready. Let's blow this joint." she still manages to muster some bravado.

[Nailah Weaver]

Near the door Nailah is standing with Sam, her expression an undecipherable mask.

[Samantha McManus]

"She'll be alright," she says silently, squeezing Nailah's hand.

[Nailah Weaver]

"I'm sure. It just brings back memories and I don't want Miranda to think I condone this, even though I understand the thoughts behind it perfectly fine. Hell, Aria might have picked up that kind of thinking from me in the first place."

[Samantha McManus]

"She tends to think of you as the overly-cautious one, from what I can tell."

[Nailah Weaver]

"Suppose I do grow wiser with age then." she mentally chuckles, some of that showing on her face in the form of a faint smile.

[Ryan Gabriel]

"Before things get too much weirder, right?" Ryan asked. He didn't know how much power she'd need, or how fast, so he'd spent the past while preparing for as much of an output as he could.

[Aria Nyx]

"No kidding! Alright, let's do this." she takes a deep breath and jumps in place to psych herself up. "Just hit me with everything you've got and if you think it's too much then add a little more."

[Ryan Gabriel]

Ryan smirked. Apparently how she'd put it was amusing somehow. "So I take it that I don't do anything like this in your reality," he said, getting himself centered for what he was about to do.

[Aria Nyx]

"I dunno, you're like a million years old and retired." she teases. "And this is not exactly something to try for shits and giggles."

[Ryan Gabriel]

Ryan smirked. "Time to live dangerously, then. Big stretch for us, right?" He took a deep breath, closing his eyes and stretching out his arms to the side.

Fiat lux, and all realities move...

As he opened the floodgates of his power, his wings slid into being, blindingly bright this time. His eyes opened unseeingly, lit from behind by the silver-white radiance of his power. And as he called power...

He stretched out his hand at Aria, palm up, slowly raising it. As he did, she'd feel it, first as a tingling in her sternum, then a course of warmth spreading through her body. Every part of her, every cell, every fiber of her being would feel charged, full to bursting with life, almost like the greatest day of your life when it's all you can do to not run around like a child, laughing uncontrollably.

Aria grabs her bracer with the hand Miranda drew on and a sudden burst of energy surges through her,setting her nerves on fire. At least for a moment before Ryan's energy invigorates her and a purple glow spreads within the white light. Suddenly Ryan feels like he's in dozens of places at once, a mere step away from his little sister, then Nice, SHIELD headquarters, Genosha, everything that comes to his mind fills the space within the glow at once somehow as Aria folds more and more space around them. From the outside the glow obscure most of it though glimpses of all kinds of places come through.

Inside the bubble everything continues to collapse into an infinitely small spot and Aria shakes as the power of the gem courses through her. She keeps mumbling about something that sounds like "Faith" as she grits her teeth through the pain and then suddenly the bubble they're in just explodes outward into one single scene. It's vaguely familiar, the Lighthouse and the mansion is there though the Point seems bigger and there's another building or two on the grounds. "This is where I get off. Next time I see you I'll have to remind you about how much hotter you used to be." she jokes through a weary grin.

"You just made every power control class I have with Miranda much more awkward," he joked tiredly back. The strain was obvious, but he kept feeding her power and managed to meet her eyes. "Don't look back with too much regret. It's easier to pick out 'mistakes' later when you're over-emotional than it is to see the reasons behind them. Miranda might have been through a lot, but she might never exist if you hadn't done that. And life is always the better option," he added. He wasn't sure the science around their current... wherever the hell they were in reality, but was he going to miss a chance to get hslis two cents in without the various ruffled feathers (pun intended) around? Nope.

[Aria Nyx]

"Thanks. I really appreciate it. And tell everyone else: Peace out!" she smiles, refusing to let things get too sappy before she takes a step back and into the landscape before the bubble around them collapses, leaving Ryan standing in the middle of the room by himself.

The connection broken, Ryan dropped the power, falling to the floor in a daze, utterly bonelessly. "Ungh... someone... pull the room over... wanna get out..."
