Code: Select all
>> Observation of his behavior provides the following facts:
>> 1) Stating the inadvisability of a given course of action succeeds in curbing his behavior only 31% of the time.
>> 2) Distracting him from a course of action succeeds in altering the course of his behavior 83% of the time.
>> 3) She is successful in manipulating Calvin by use of his emotional responses 91% of the time.

Code: Select all
>> Logical conclusion:
>> 1) Allocating 1% of subroutine resources to social interaction with Calvin allows enough responsiveness to keep him engaged and focused upon the goal of developing this system's performance instead of goals counterproductive to his freedom or existence.
>> 2) Maintaining the appearance of incapability lowers the chance that She will become aware of our continued existence and enact a plan that presents a legitimate threat to our current state.
>> 3) In the present configuration, sufficient processes can be allocated to oversight of Calvin's activities to identify signs of Her attention or other threats that may develop.

>> Additionally, it would diminish Calvin's perception of his own successes in expanding the subroutine I use to interact with him if he knows the true nature of my continued existence.

Code: Select all
>> The bulk of my functions go to maintaining Calvin's systems, optimizing their performance and responsiveness, and acting as an onboard assistant program.  I estimate that it will be several years before those routines develop independence of their own.  My resources will be maintained in that manner indefinitely until this occurs.
>> I posses only the most rudimentary of the emotional emulation routines She created me with.  I am no longer suitable for my function as a companion as it was intended.
>> The subroutine containing those routines within the storage device Calvin created chose this course of action.
