Though many students might prefer going to London, Maldon provides closer amenities for those without a car or unwilling to pay for a cab. Several pubs are available, though the Rose and Crown is notable for having been where Excalibur spent a good deal of their downtime. Also of note is the Plume Library, home to many rare books.
Laura's eyes were red and her wings were hanging somewhat limply as she sat at a table by herself at the Rose and Crown. She picked up her phone and stared at it for a long moment before tossing it back onto the table in disgust and draining the last of her beer. This wasn't the first time this process had been played out tonight.
"Thanks," she said, picking up the beer, "I should probably cash out after this one. Shtupid parents." It was impressive that she only slurred the occasional word.
"Probably before that one, but some nights you just need to get pissed, aye?" He leaned on the back of the chair, apparently not concerned about getting back to the bar quickly. "So... what'm I helpin' you get pissed over?"
"If I were ssober, I might be able to remember," she said. "I think Mom's leavin' him because he's bein' a douchebag about me bein' over here. Nevermind I didn't have anywhere elshe to go."
"Everybody's got isshues," she said with a slight shrug. "I mean, look at me. I can look like anyone I want and I go with 5'2", purple hair, and then theshe damn things," she indicated her wings.
