They're Fite N' Madd

[Narrator]

Agents Madd and Fite returned to the university, having received Natalya's updates on the investigation into the Case of the Disappearing Records.

Carrying a couple of briefcases, they knocked on Natalya's office door.

[Natalya Romanov]

Natalya opened the door. "Gentlemen."

[Narrator]

"Ms. Romanov. We hear you've been busy."

[Natalya Romanov]

"You wouldn't believe... or maybe you would," she said with a shrug. "What can I do for you?"

[Narrator]

"We've been following up on your claims, and we may have something that will interest you.

We also have a couple questions we'd like cleared up, so you could consider this an information exchange. Detante, if you'd like."

[Natalya Romanov]

"Well, first things first, what do you have for me?"

[Narrator]

"We've been monitoring sites formerly used by Black Air, based on your initial suspicions, and I think we've found something."

[Natalya Romanov]

Natalya opened the door the rest of the way, letting the two of them into her office. "Well, come in and tell me about it."

[Narrator]

They came in, and didn't waste very much time.

"With the data you were able to give us -- the signals emitted by the nanoprobes inside Mr. Stanton, as well as the..." he checks his notes... "retroactivley erasing virus, we believe Black Air is operating out of an old base they had, down in the Savage Land.

These photos were taken by a KH-15 satellite."

It showed what looked like a relatively advanced technological base, with some tell-tale energy readings.

"It was abandoned in the late '80s, thanks to the actions of Excalibur, but it appears, in the past month or so, to have stated powering back up again. And we believe the virus may have originated there."

[Natalya Romanov]

"Good to know. We can probably look into that."

[Narrator]

"As a representative of Her Majesty's Government, I can't advise you to do that.

Hopefully I won't be forgetful and leave all of these schematics here, if you catch my drift."

[Natalya Romanov]

"Yes, best be careful not to leave anything behind," she said with a sage nod.

[Narrator]

"How are things holding up here in your investigation?"

[Natalya Romanov]

"Doctor Bowen still has the evidence contained and is continuing to review it. We've started reaching out to some of our contacts looking for more usable information."

[Narrator]

"What's your next step, in regards to Mr. Stanton?"

[Natalya Romanov]

"We need to re-establish him as an existing human being. We're still trying to figure out the best way to go about that."

[Narrator]

"Our analysis indicates that any attempt at re-filing paperwork under his name is likely to be just as susceptible to the virus as any pre-existing paperwork."

[Natalya Romanov]

"That poses a problem that has to be solved then doesn't it? Any way of stamping out this particular little bug?"

[Narrator]

"We're working on it, but it's a particularly nasty little thing.

We do have an alternative solution, but you're not going to like it."

[Natalya Romanov]

"I rarely like solutions proposed by government agencies of any kind, but go ahead."

[Narrator]

"Turn him over to us. We can shield him from the Americans or the immigration offices, and even if Black Air tries to make a stink, I don't think they'd be willing for a full-on assault of the British government, as opposed to a private school in the countryside."

[Natalya Romanov]

Natalya made a face that was decidedly unprofessional. "I don't have the authority to make that decision on my own. And even if I did, I couldn't do it without consulting quite a few other people, especially Mr. Stanton himself."

[Narrator]

"Well, take it under advisement, at the least. But you're going to need to come up with SOMETHING, or else this is just going to keep happening again.

You can trust the government, you know," Fite said, standing up. "We're not all shady."

'Was there anything else you needed?"

[Natalya Romanov]

"Not at the moment. I've got your number, should I come up with something."

[Narrator]

"Stay in touch. We do want to help you fix these things, believe it or not."

With that, they left, accidentally leaving behind a wealth of charts and maps of a secret antarctic base.

Natalya quickly scooped those up and went about figuring out when to set up a briefing.
