"I think Cal has a point." Christie said "I mean, we've got people here who can do the tech part, and probably someone who could to the reality warping thing, but I don't think we have someone who can do both. And a project like this would have attracted attention if more than one person was in on it."

[Stephanie Kaltiera]

"....reality warping," Steph said, wondering if she could draw a connection between the hidden devices and a certain visitor to the Danger Room.

She held out her hands. "Mr. Strong, let me take a look at that for a minute, do you mind?"

[Calvin Strong]

And that's the last I'll see of that, he thought, handing the half-disassembled eye to Steph.

[Stephanie Kaltiera]

Steph took the device in her hands and closed her eyes for a moment. When they re-opened, they were a feral yellow and she brought the thing up closer to her face, sniffing it, trying to see if she could recognize scents at all familiar to the ones she found in the Danger Room after the attack.

[Narrator]

This was the absolute worst thing that Stephanie had ever smelled.

It smelled like a dozen rotting asses. It was an incredibly offensive odor that probably violated the Geneva Convention in some way.

What I'm trying to get across is that it smelled really, really, really, bad.

[Molly Malcolm]

"So weird," Molly mutters to Kay, "Oh, I almost forgot! I had an invite to this party in London. Did you want to come?"

"You can even bring some of your friends. You know, if you have any..." Molly quickly realizes her mistake and adds, "...that want to come along!"

[Kay Haddock]

Kay can't help but snort out a laugh at that. "You know, when I first met you I really wanted to hate you. But I've realized that the weirdos are the cool kids here and you're the odd one out."

[Molly Malcolm]

"It has been pretty tough," Molly admits.

[Kay Haddock]

"I'll ask around who feels like going."

[Molly Malcolm]

"Awesome," Molly says, smiling brightly, "It'll be so fun. I promise."

[Stephanie Kaltiera]

Stephanie was honestly pretty used to things that smelled bad to most people--spending time in the wild, trying to survive on your own as a wolf certainly helped.

But this? This was disgusting. It turned her human AND wolf stomachs equally (though for different reasons) and she fought back the urge to gag, which came out as more of a growl than anything else. She practically shoved the device back at Cal.

"Ugh. That. Smells. Awful."

But did it smell like anything she'd ever smelled before? She wracked her brain.

[Kay Haddock]

"Awesome," Molly says, smiling brightly, "It'll be so fun. I promise."

"Are you sure the place is gonna be okay with mutants?"

[Narrator]

If she had smelled anything like that before, she was currently repressing it.

[Molly Malcolm]

Molly laughed, "It'll be fine. I promise. I wouldn't invite anyone if I thought there'd be any anti-mutant jerks there."

[Kay Haddock]

"Cool. Should we all pitch in and get, like, a cab?"

[Molly Malcolm]

"That sounds good," Molly says, "I can cover anyone who can't pay for a ride though. I don't want anyone stuck here if they want to come."
