Police Station - Do Not Pass Go

Though many students might prefer going to London, Maldon provides closer amenities for those without a car or unwilling to pay for a cab. Several pubs are available, though the Rose and Crown is notable for having been where Excalibur spent a good deal of their downtime. Also of note is the Plume Library, home to many rare books.

Police Station - Do Not Pass Go

Postby Melpomene » Thu Apr 04, 2013 12:37 pm

A dark haired woman in a long overcoat throws open the doors to the Maldon police station and walks in with the gait of someone who expects people to step out of her way. Which, strangely enough, the few other people who are there for one reason or another do. One man checks his watch and suddenly remembers a more important appointment, another just looks up and wonders what he even came here for. One by one they file out past Melpomene as she steps up to the police officer at the front desk. She doesn't even seem to be trying to disguise herself, which might seem odd considering the Interpol warrant hanging on the wall with her picture (slightly more disshelved looking but still clearly her)

As he looked up from his work, it took a moment before the wheels turned in his head. His eyes widened, betraying the recognition, though he tried to remain calm.

"...hello, can I help you?"

Along the rim of the desk, his hand was reaching for something.

"Yes, you can stop reaching for the alarm and instead pick up that phone. I need to talk to the police chief about turning myself in and making a full confession."

"...Interpol advisory says to limit contact with you, outside of a shielded cell," he said, still reaching for the alarm.

"Then maybe you should leave and get him personally before I change my mind." she says, and this time it would seem like an excellent idea. In fact getting out of this room and away from that woman seems like the best idea he's ever had.

"...right away, Ma'am." He got up and hurried towards the back.

"Atta boy." she says and lets herself behind the desk to take her picture from the wall, looking at the name on it with disgust before crumpling it up in her hand.

Shortly thereafter, the chief emerged with several other officers that were armed with batons and pepper spray.

"No sudden moves," he said.

"You should make sure I don't overpower the lot of you." she says, dropping the piece of paper and lifting her hands in the most mocking surrender she can muster. "Didn't Sammy hand you an inhibitor collar. I was hoping I wouldn't have to surrender to them."

"Wasn't thinking you'd hold still long enough to put it on," he said as he held one up.

"You escaped from a mental institution. We've no reason to expect you to come along quietly," he said as he approached her, the officers flanking him.

"I have come to my senses. That time in solitary confinement really does wonders for your mental health. I just needed some fresh air. But now I really miss that cozy empty cell, so if you'd be so kind to escort me back that would be splendid."

"No funny business," he said as he reached out and tried to apply the collar to her.

"What, little old me?" she laughs, just off enough to sound disturbing. But she doesn't resist the 'arrest' if you can call it that.

Clicking the collar into place, he pushed the button to activate it.

"Now into the cell with you, until we can get the men in white coats here."

"With pleasure." she mumbles. The collar seems to have taken some of the edge out of her voice.

The officers went to escort her away, after that.

Mel seemed to accept her fate surprisingly calmly, making no fuss whatsoever, though every once in a while she seemed to look a little distraught.
