Sam's Office: Explosive Revelations

[Kaliyah Shah]

"Didn't say they were," Callie says, "But one is enough, in my book."

[Samantha McManus]

"This isn't going to be easy unless we both rein them in a bit, aye?"

[Kaliyah Shah]

"Yeah," Callie says, "I'll do what I can."

[Samantha McManus]

"Alright, then." She nodded.

[Kaliyah Shah]

"Have a good one, Ms. McManus," Callie says, stepping out of the office.

[Victoria Valentine]

...And right into Victoria's fist, as soon as Victoria got a momentary look at Sam and Callie to make her decision by.

A punch had a hard time hurting Callie, but it could catch her off guard. She rocked backwards and fell over after being hit.

"The hell, Valentine?" Callie says, "Seriously, what the fuck?"

[Samantha McManus]

The Headmistress walked out of her office. By the look of things, she was not amused.

"...Miss Valentine, explain yourself."

[Victoria Valentine]

"Why!" Victoria shot at Callie, ignoring (rather uncharacteristically) Sam. "Things aren't fucked up enough here, we have to go spreading the hate through town?"

Callie got up, "Excuse me?"

[Samantha McManus]

"Miss Valentine, is there a particular reason I should tolerate you starting a fistfight outside my door?"

[Victoria Valentine]

"Oh don't fucking play stupid with me. What else would you be getting called into her office the morning after your little gang got their collective noses being bloodied put up on the internet." She looked up at Sam, speaking much more calmly. "I only hit her once. And we all know that it can't hurt her," she said, 'reasonably.'

"I'm taking care of the kids that you're content to let go die in a back alley or rot away in a jail cell, you stuck up bitch," Callie snaps at Victoria.

[Samantha McManus]

"Miss Valentine, I don't care if you were punching the bloody Juggernaut. This isn't the time or place."

[Victoria Valentine]

"Yeah, great job. They're sitting unsupervised in a run-down apartment building," Victoria shot back, looking like she was having a very hard time keeping from kicking her. But, with a glance at Sam, she visibly kept from doing any more hitting. "Those kids need help not a fucking enabler!"

[Kaliyah Shah]

"Then help me!" Callie shouts, "Stop sitting on your ass, judging my efforts so you can feel better about yourself!"

[Victoria Valentine]

"Better about my- What about either of our fucked up lives makes either of us even remotely up to that! Why don't I help those kids? Because I couldn't even fucking help myself! And like you did any fucking better! Do we need more kids turning out head cases like us!?"

[Kaliyah Shah]

"How about keeping kids from ending up like us?" Callie asks, "How about keeping them safe from the sort of people that "looked after" us?"

[Victoria Valentine]

"Look at what's happened! You've already got your little crew picking fights against everyone who's not them because it's the thing to do! They are turning out like we did! We have no healthy reference to work from, why do you think I let them handle that!" she shot back, pointing at Sam for the last part.

[Kaliyah Shah]

"Because you're too scared to try to move forward!" Callie says, "As hard and fucked up as things are, its better to keep things that way for you then to take the chance that you might have changed. That you might be able to do this!"

[Samantha McManus]

"I hate to sound insensitive here, but perhaps this would be better settled in private?"

[Victoria Valentine]

"I move forward all the goddess-damned time, you arrogant bitch," Victoria shot back through clenched teeth. "But I don't take those risks with other people! Let's see, how many best friends have the two of us gotten fucking killed? But oh, we're better now!"

[Samantha McManus]

The two of them were suddenly feeling crowded, though they couldn't see anything around them. There was a rustle of feathers and the sensation of being watched by hundreds of eyes, accompanied by the strong desire to be somewhere else.

"Ladies," the headmistress said, crossing her arms.

"Sorry, Ms. McManus," Callie says, starting to walk down the hall.

[Victoria Valentine]

Victoria resisted it a bit... but only just long enough so that she didn't have to walk out with Callie, turning the opposite direction down the hall.
