"No, that's usually not a net positive." She turned, scanning her shelves. One of the books floated up off the shelf a fraction before moving to her hand. "This is a good introductory book about secondary school education." She offered it to him, "It should give you a good idea of some of the basics and I can observe a couple of your classes and see where you need some extra help. Does that sound acceptable?"

Alright, scenario -- I've got a bunch of students who are likely scared to death of me right now. What do I do next class? If they even bother to show up, that is."

"You know, the usual. Some reports, some readings, things of that nature. I prefer more...hands-on activities though. The Danger Room is a boon."

"Are you familiar with the concept? They're also called Heath Robinson contraptions." She pulled another book out of the bookcase and opened it, offering it to him. On the page was a picture. "Their's obviously won't be like this, but the idea is to take a significant number of steps to accomplish a simple task. Along the way, they'll put to use some of the principles they're learning in my physics classes."

"Yes," she said with a sigh. "There are times I wish I had the time to spend one-on-one with the students. I think it might help some of them, but there's just not enough time in the class period and the last thing they want to see outside of class is their teachers."
