A normal date? Crazier things have happened...

"Tu es si mignon?" he parroted...fairly well?

"What did I just call myself, you, or otherwise announce to the table?" he smirked.

[Elena Rousseau]

"Your accent needs work," she said. "And when you figure out what I said to you and you've now said back, you can let me know."

[Trev Anderson]

"Not at all fair!" he laughed.

[Elena Rousseau]

"And since when is life fair?" She put her napkin on the table, folding her hands in her lap.

[Trev Anderson]

"That's what everyone who has ever done something unfair, ever, always says," he teased as the check was set down in front of him. He took a quick look at it, pulled out a credit card, and tucked it inside, handing it off to the waiter who came back relatively quickly.

[Elena Rousseau]

"Now to get something sweet to offset the spice of the evening," Elena said, standing.

[Trev Anderson]

"I like the way you think," he smiled, heading out into the night. Once on the street, he offered his arm to her.

"Think the place you were mentioning is just a block or so this way," he said, leading them down the street.

[Elena Rousseau]

She took his arm, "It should be, unless I've been completely turned around."

[Trev Anderson]

"Getting lost with you on my arm? Not really feeling like a problem to me," he said stealing a glance at her, smiling nervously, and wondering if his heart was going to stop trying to escape through his ribs.

[Elena Rousseau]

"Good company or not, getting lost would be inconvenient," she chuckled, "And I wouldn't get my dessert."

[Trev Anderson]

"Well at least one of us has our priorities straight," he joked.

Sure enough there was a small cafe just ahead of them, the smell of coffee and baked goods wafting towards them.

[Elena Rousseau]

Once they were seated with their coffee and biscuit/cookies, Elena regarded him thoughtfully for a moment, "So is there anything you're dying to ask me, but afraid I'll stomp off in a huff if you do?"

[Trev Anderson]

Trev sipped his coffee, hoping that it wasn't horribly obvious how much his hand was shaking (it was shaking...just a bit at least).

"Well... would you be interested in joining me another dinner next week? I'm a passable cook, and the dorm kitchen seems pretty well equipped."

[Elena Rousseau]

"That? That's your 'worried she'll take off' question?" She laughed and it took her a bit before she recovered herself.

[Trev Anderson]

Trev laughed nervously, his face a bit red. "Sorry. If you knew how awful my last few dates had been, you'd understand why I ask. I haven't been on a date that didn't end...horribly," he emphasized, "since about junior year of high school."

[Elena Rousseau]

"Well, your prospects look good right now, but I'll have to check my schedule. I might be working that night, I don't know yet."

[Trev Anderson]

"Just let me know," he smiled nervously. "Once you know your free nights, I'll see what would work best for you."

[Elena Rousseau]

"Would you relax? It isn't as if I would turn you down to 'wash my hair' or some other euphemism."

[Trev Anderson]

Trev flashed back to his last date and froze momentarily. "I...sorry," he smiled nervously. "It's just unusual a date going this well. I shouldn't let my nerves foul it up."

[Elena Rousseau]

She smirked. "If it makes you feel any better, if I don't want to see you, I won't try to spare your feelings. I'm not the type."

[Trev Anderson]

Trev wasn't quite sure how to respond to that so he just chuckled.

"Deal," he smiled.

Of course your last date ended that way too....but she won't shut me down loudly and publicly...I hope?

"So...uh...well do *you* have any questions that you're afraid I'd storm off for asking?" he laughed. "Not that much of anything would ever make me do that."

[Elena Rousseau]

She sipped at her coffee for a moment, "I think I'll hold my questions. I have a feeling they'd get into areas that not even I'm ready to approach. Can I ask them some other time?"

[Trev Anderson]

"Uh...of course...As you wish," he smiled.

Oh my God, what the hell is she thinking of asking me?

[Elena Rousseau]

"I refuse to call you Wesley or Farm Boy."

[Trev Anderson]

"And my clever trick to see if you were a connoisseur of fine movies pays off," he smiles

[Elena Rousseau]

She stuck out her tongue at him. "I wouldn't go so far as to say 'fine movie', but it is a fun time."

[Trev Anderson]

"Well as long a you don't dislike it. I mean, I'd probably have to end the date right here," he chuckled.

[Elena Rousseau]

"There are movies for different occasions. That one is one for a lazy night with good friends and good laughs."

[Trev Anderson]

"Agreed," he smiled. "It's one of my favorites. Much of my vocabulary is quotes from movies I enjoy--that's one of them. No shortage of other geek favorites on my list either. I'm an enormous geek, in case you couldn't tell."

[Elena Rousseau]

"It does show a bit." She nibbled thoughtfully at one of the cookies.

[Trev Anderson]

"I'm way more showered and less awkward than many folks as nerdy as me," he chuckled. "Not that that's saying much," he added before taking a sip of his coffee.

[Elena Rousseau]

"You're an adorable kind of awkward. Though it could become less adorable if you stay that way around me."

[Trev Anderson]

"Well...at least it's adorable right? If you put up with me for a while I'm sure ill get better." Trev reddened, and laughed a bit nervously

[Elena Rousseau]

"You'd better," she said with mock-severity.

[Trev Anderson]

Trev laughed. "Yes ma'am,"

See. This is fine. You're doing fine. Relax, man, this isn't going to end like the last dates...but shit. How do you end the night? Do you wait for her to look bored, or tired? Do you end it? Do you suggest you move from the coffee shop? Or does that sound like you're trying towns the night. Or push her to some place to go make out....which would be great, mind you....shit. Focus. Uh. Uh...

[Elena Rousseau]

She sipped at her coffee again, "We should probably head back soon. I know I have a busy day tomorrow and you probably do to. Although this has been fun. Thanks for asking me out."

[Trev Anderson]

Well. There's one mystery solved.

"Thanks for coming out," he smiled "it was amazing."

Trev rose and quickly strode towards Elena, grabbing her coat off the back of her chair and holding it out for her to step into.

[Elena Rousseau]

She slid into the coat and turned, pulling it out of Trev's hands. Before he could say anything, she leaned in and gave him a kiss, right on the lips.

[Trev Anderson]

Trev froze momentarily, but melted into the kiss pretty quickly, letting it linger just a moment as he let his hands fall gently onto her hips.

When the kiss broke off his cheeks were a bit red but he was smiling. "Well...uh. Yeah. Lets get back to school," he said, his heart racing in the best way possible. He reached for her hand and started to head out, forgetting his jacket at the table.

"That's a proper thank you," Elena said, snagging his jacket with her free hand as they left.
