"Yeah, people get it," he said, noncommitally. He nodded at a bedroom door, which when opened seemed to obviously be his. One wall seemed to be filled with computer towers, most of them appearing either homemade or heavily modified, with a cooling system running through them that actually made the entire room chilly (leading one to wonder what it did to the computers. Only one monitor sat over there, and it didn't appear to be plugged in, and there were no input devices at all. If anyone had noticed any lag on the school network, this was now explained away, at least to Aisha. A few car batteries sat nearby, fresh and unused, with cables ready to be hooked up suggesting that they were emergency power.
The other side of the room seemed to be the work area, with various projects spread out over it, suggesting that the tablets and other gadgets he had on him were the most promising, easy, or complete projects he was working on. The desk contained the less promising, from outright broken or smashed parts to unrecognizable devices in various states of assembly or disassembly. All in all, from how cluttered the room seeed, Cal had to crawl onto his bed from the foot of it every night, if he even slept.
Cal started dumping the boxes next to the desk, separating them into piles, but not so specifically that he seemed to have a hard system.
