I hope the room's big enough... ((totally, completely open))

Up until recently maintained as a museum, the childhood home of the Braddock family has been pressed into service as additional housing and classroom space for the Institute. Additionally, the increased demands have led to the main ballroom being converted into a cafeteria for both the Institute and those University students on a meal plan. Student reactions have been mixed, and reports of paranormal activity are as of yet unsubstantiated.

"I never said I hated my parents," he pointed out. "I mean, yes, they're douchebags, but that's more a statement of fact than anything hateful. And yeah, I'm angry at them, but I kind of think I have a right to be angry after they badgered me into being a lab rat, took all the money I got from that, and then were more worried about the lawsuit money than their son after I got my brain ruined by those doctors."

"This is because computers don't need money, isn't it," Cal said, something in his demeanor shifting as he climbed the stairs with the boxes.

Cal opened his mouth to correct this "thousands" idea, then shut it again and kept carrying. "Everyone needs money sooner or later," he reasoned.

"So I should've screwed them over and dragged them through the mud," he said. "Got it. No, y'see, that's what I would have done if I did hate my parents, because that would've just been mean. If not evil."

"Yeah, people get it," he said, noncommitally. He nodded at a bedroom door, which when opened seemed to obviously be his. One wall seemed to be filled with computer towers, most of them appearing either homemade or heavily modified, with a cooling system running through them that actually made the entire room chilly (leading one to wonder what it did to the computers. Only one monitor sat over there, and it didn't appear to be plugged in, and there were no input devices at all. If anyone had noticed any lag on the school network, this was now explained away, at least to Aisha. A few car batteries sat nearby, fresh and unused, with cables ready to be hooked up suggesting that they were emergency power.

The other side of the room seemed to be the work area, with various projects spread out over it, suggesting that the tablets and other gadgets he had on him were the most promising, easy, or complete projects he was working on. The desk contained the less promising, from outright broken or smashed parts to unrecognizable devices in various states of assembly or disassembly. All in all, from how cluttered the room seeed, Cal had to crawl onto his bed from the foot of it every night, if he even slept.

Cal started dumping the boxes next to the desk, separating them into piles, but not so specifically that he seemed to have a hard system.

Cal looked around, a little doubtful of that himself. "It'll probably be smaller out of the boxes," he reasoned.

He shrugged. "School doesn't like that idea. 'Computers don't need to sleep' doesn't really keep them from child endangerment lawsuits. Not that anyone would sue them for something happening to me."
