What's so awesome about swords anyway?

[Brigid Plunder]

Her hand swept up with uncanny speed, the metal ringing out as their blades clashed and she shifted her stance to try to deflect the blow away.

[Kevin Gravis]

Kevin's blade was deflected but was back with another strike with lightning speed.

[Brigid Plunder]

She whirled about, re-angling her blade to bring it perpendicular to his in the next block.

[Kevin Gravis]

Again, his blade locked with hers.

"Good! Good! I might actually have to fight with my good arm!"

[Brigid Plunder]

"...you like this movie way too much," she said before shifting her weight and trying to shove him back. She seemed to have an innate sense of balance and leverage in this.

[Kevin Gravis]

"Inconceivable!" he said as he flipped away, switching hands as he landed. Nimble little dork, isn't he?

"But really, you are quite good. Attack me."

[Brigid Plunder]

Brigid tested with a few strikes, trying to hem him in. It was obvious by her style that she was used to fighting opponents that were larger and stronger than she was.

[Kevin Gravis]

"Impressive," he said, taking advantage of her style by focusing on being fast and evasive, "But you aren't fighting a hulking lizardman. You have to be able to adapt."

[Brigid Plunder]

"Yeah, well... adapt to this!"

She feinted a few strikes, then finally tried to make one hit home.

[Kevin Gravis]

Kevin caught the final strike on his hilt and went for the disarm.

[Brigid Plunder]

Brigid struggled against the disarm, her sense of leverage letting her hold on for a bit longer than she probably should. Still, when it became obvious to her what was going to happen she showed Kevin she wasn't opposed to... unorthodox tactics.

Which is to say she tried rather viciously to kick at him.

[Kevin Gravis]

He practically danced to avoid the kick and pressed the disarm hard, flinging the weapon away. Immediately he went for the deathblow (completely harmless, mind you).

[Brigid Plunder]

In a move that almost seemed to be without thinking, Brigid's hands rushed up to clap together on either flat side of the blade. She gritted her teeth.

[Kevin Gravis]

"Nice," he smiled, "Buuuut... too slow." The blade had struck painlessly, de-rezzed where it actually connected.

[Brigid Plunder]

"...damn it," she muttered.

[Kevin Gravis]

"Computer, end simulation," he said, and all derezzed.

"Relax," he smiled, "You did great. If anyone expected you to win the first time, they wouldn't have sent you to me in the first place."

[Brigid Plunder]

"I just... I should have caught that..."

[Kevin Gravis]

"It was a risky maneuver. One that would have probably worked if I were any slower."

[Brigid Plunder]

"Didn't want you to think I was bragging..."

[Kevin Gravis]

"Oh a little bragging is fine. It shows confidence. But I didn't think that. You're really good, honest," he said, "You have incredible potential."

[Brigid Plunder]

"...I'm not going to have to wear one of those stupid suits, am I?"

[Kevin Gravis]

"Won't be a requirement for sessions with me, but I can't promise no one will insist on it."
