Stan's office - Mutant Studies wing

Renovated from the Manor's original guest house, the majority of faculty offices are housed here.

Stan's office - Mutant Studies wing

Postby Stan Bowen » Tue Aug 28, 2012 7:15 pm

Stan was in his tidy office, taking care to keep a good example for the other instructors in the department- most of the clutter he restricted to his lab areas underground.

He quietly contemplated a few papers, grading steadily with an open door in case of visitors.

"Well, it's not huge, I admit. Several professors prefer to keep some office space down in the lab area under the Manor, or at our remote facility out on Muir Island, just for that reason. "

"One of the advantages of being an anthropologist, I don't need to worry about lab space." Amanda replied, smiling. "Plus, I have a window! With a view. Sorry, I know I'm probably way too easily impressed."

"I think it'll be perfect." Amanda said "So, tell me, do you ever get used to living in a manor house? Because I think its totally cool, even if I'm technically in what used to be the housekeeper's room."

"Well, we all Get to know each other very well, as you'd expect. It's a little... Closer then I'm comfortable with, but under the circumstances with the MRA... I think it's neccessary we keep together."

"Yeah." Amanda said, suddenly somber "That is one of the reasons I'm here. Even if XU hadn't been my first choice.....with the current political climate, well, getting a job wasn't going to be easy"

"I'm sure some od the more adventurous students will be trilled to hear about your time with the morlocks.. It's a very misunderstood mutant culture."

"I hope so too." Amanda said "Its especially important now for us to understand each other. We can't afford to mistrust other mutants based on their lifestyle. And well....right now living underground doesn't seem that nuts."

"And that, I think, is a point of concern. Moving underground, literally and figuratively... It seems for every step forward, there's a slide back for mutant relations." he noted, slightly bitter.

"But, we'll weather this storm, like we have before."
