Nailah's Office - Occult Studies

[Nailah Weaver]

Nailah is in her office, pouring over various books and notes. Some of them history books, one or two almost looking historical themselves.

[Samantha McManus]

"Something strike your interest?" Came the voice from the doorway.

[Nailah Weaver]

"You could say that. Have you been out to the Point lately?"

[Samantha McManus]

"Can't say as I have. Had my hands full."

[Nailah Weaver]

"Something is happening where the old lighthouse was."

[Samantha McManus]

"...be more specific."

[Nailah Weaver]

"I wish I could. Something that's certainly not a lighthouse but just as non-existent is casting a shadow and the whole area feels... more alive than it should be."

[Samantha McManus]

"And what have you found here?"

[Nailah Weaver]

"Not much so far, to be honest."

[Samantha McManus]

"Not sure what to tell you then, love."

[Nailah Weaver]

She gives a slight shrug. "Honestly, I'm not really sure where to start. There's never been a structure that'd cast a shadow like that here and I feel ridiculous looking into my first instinct because the cradle of life doesn't just... pop into existence over night."

[Samantha McManus]

"You know it wasn't... just retired, aye?"

[Nailah Weaver]

"Yes but this doesn't feel like the aftermath of destruction. If anything it's the opposite."

[Samantha McManus]

"Aye, but where Brian Braddock's wife is concerned... I don't know."

[Nailah Weaver]

"I'll have to take your word on that but this wasn't there a couple weeks ago."

[Samantha McManus]

"She's... like me," she said after some consideration.

[Nailah Weaver]

"No offense Sam, but if you're saying you could create a spring of life like that then you're overestimating yourself just a little."

[Samantha McManus]

"No, no, that's not..."

She sighed.

"I'm sorry. I just think what she did was for a reason. I don't know. She always made me... uncomfortable, before."

[Nailah Weaver]

"Okay. But seriously, go out there and take a look. It's bleeding so much energy into the world you almost don't have to tap into it even."

[Samantha McManus]

"Alright. And again... I know I've been rather gung-ho about being this in full throat, but..."

"Old memories, I suppose. I'm probably making too much of it."

[Nailah Weaver]

"I'm not trying to wave you off. If you have a hunch then you have more than I do right now."

[Samantha McManus]

"You'd think it would be comforting, having an inkling that someone was like yourself."

[Nailah Weaver]

"I can see how it wouldn't while you're still trying to come to terms with things."

[Samantha McManus]

"Aye, and at the time she was... rather stranger than me, or so I thought."

[Nailah Weaver]

"And looking back on it now?" she smirks faintly.

[Samantha McManus]

"Now I've either come even or pulled ahead," she admitted.

[Nailah Weaver]

"So... You think she might have intended something like this down the line?"

[Samantha McManus]

"I think she knew something was there and it needed not to be. I don't know if it was this."

[Nailah Weaver]

"Well, I'd agree with her on this potentially being bad news. It doesn't feel bad in itself, but if someone tried to abuse it..."

[Samantha McManus]

"...would it be too much to ask for you to be there, if I go to check it out?"

[Nailah Weaver]

"Of course not."

[Samantha McManus]

"Thank you. I know it's silly, but... I'd feel better."
