"Your dead friend is living in your head." she repeats, maybe to try and wrap her mind around it. "Are you sure she's not just a mental fragment of yours from that future?"

"I'm certain. This isn't me playing with dolls, here."

"I tend to think I'd agree with you more consistently if you were making me up," Becca thought indignantly.

"I... really don't know what to think about that right now, Sam..."

"I suppose this wouldn't be a good time to ask her if she likes that thing I taught you to do that made h- know what? I'm shutting up and going back to your subconscious again."

"I'm sorry. I've been putting it off, and putting it off, because how do you bloody say this?"

"But you've convinced me to be more honest with myself, and with you."

"So there it is. I'm a goddess, and I thought she deserved better than the death she had. Is it easier to swallow if I put it that way?"

"No, actually that sounds like a lot more bullshit, but then again, I'm an athiest."

[Nailah Weaver]

"Somewhat? And I'm glad you told me this, but that... that just raises so many questions. Did you keep her from the afterlife or oblivion? Is it just memories? Her soul? Is there even a difference?"

"I'm fairly sure that if this is me being held back from the afterlife, I'll get to go there when you die, so... honestly, I'm fine here. This is as nice a waiting room as any, and your life certainly isn't boring to be a ride-along in."

"I don't have a lot of answers, there. She doesn't seem too worried about me keeping her back, if that's what happened here."

"...and also she says she's an atheist, but we'll have to agree to disagree, there."

"I can understand the why. It's more than a little weird but that's who we are. I even understand how this would be a difficult topic to breach. But the implications here..."

"...I suppose the Morrigan is a psychopomp, of sorts."

Nailah blinks, looks at Sam and then bursts out laughing. The whole situation is just too bizarre.

"You know you're supposed to hand them off again, right?" she chuckles still.

"Perhaps she just decided that it was warm in here, and there is cake."

[Nailah Weaver]

"I'll admit that if you're going to be stuck in someone's mind yours is probably the least boring."

"Feels better now that I've told you, at least. Don't have to just look distracted when she starts offering color commentary."

"I do hope she... knows when to stay out of things."

"Aye. No worries there. She's not a voyeur."

She nods, then, something dawns on her. "Does Victoria know?"

[Samantha McManus]

"No. Becca felt it would be a bit too hard on her."

[Nailah Weaver]

"I'm... not sure I agree, but that is none of my business."

[Samantha McManus]

"Not as if I didn't ask her if she wanted me to tell her daughter."

"Of course."

[Samantha McManus]

"And I suppose I've thought about giving her a bit more freedom, aye? She hasn't seemed to want a body again, and it might be a bit odd if a white raven just started turning up in the flock."

"You mean you... Yeah, of course you could. In a way you already did before..."

"Unless you have any other sudden revelations." she smiles faintly.

"I could try to convince you I'm pregnant, but I don't think I'll abuse this new openness between us," she chuckled.

"Somehow I'd have my doubts." she chuckles, shaking her head as she steps off the roof.

"Aye, no crying wolf for us." She dispersed into the flock and followed.
