If I get back to the institute, I say that I was mind controlled. Maybe hit myself on the head and make it look more convincing. He hissed in pain as the vampires sank their fangs into his arms. Inhibitor collar or no, he started straining against the ropes, TRYING to force his power out. With any luck, maybe it was a cheap one.
