June 17- mutant studies main hallway

[Stan Bowen]

Along the oak lined hallway, many students and faculty mingled taking in the busy summer session.

and right in the middle of the crowd, Dr Bowen stood, dutifully posting the first batch of exam results of the term.

[Sean Hall]

Sean exited a class room rounded a corner and accidentally bumped into Dr. Bowen as he was posting the grades.

[Stan Bowen]

Stan bumped up against the wall, before stepping back.

"Careful, careful there, Mister hall!" he stated, with a slight smile.

"the Hallway's crowded enough, I think."

[Sean Hall]

"So-Oh, Sorry Dr.Bowen," Sean said realizing who he'd run into, "I don't think it was this crowded during spring semester."

[Stan Bowen]

"Everyone comes pecking at grade day."

he resumed stapling his grades.

[Sean Hall]

"I'm surprised you still put them up on a wall," Sean said, "Most teachers just post them online and they can avoid the...riot."

[Stan Bowen]

Stan smirked at that.

"You want your grades from mutant studies, you come looking for them. call me old fashioned."

[Sean Hall]

"I wield ancient and mysterious arts, so I must be truly retro," Sean smiled, "I came to check on my grade. Wanted to see how I did on my final paper. Hoped the unique perspective of a non-mutant would at least prove...interesting."

[Stan Bowen]

Stan smiled, pointing at the posted grade.

It was a fair grade, based on what Sean had expected. maybe a tiny bit better then he expected.

[Sean Hall]

Sean was quite pleased with the B+ which was higher than he'd expected, but not quite what he'd hoped for of course. Stan's course had been pretty challenging, but Sean actually worked rather hard at his coursework.

"That will make my mum happy," Sean smiled widely.

[Stan Bowen]

"Just write an.A next time. that'll keep her happy." He replied, smiling.

"Do you have a moment? Or were you just passing through quickly?"

[Sean Hall]

"I've got nothing until later tonight," Sean smiled, "What do you need?"

[Stan Bowen]

Stan turned, leading Sean back to his office.

"Have you given any more thought to my proposal of doing some exploring of your mutant abilities in my lab?"

[Sean Hall]

Sean followed Dr. Bowen back towards his office.

"Well," Sean said, "After sleeping on it I've come to the conclusion it certainly couldn't hurt to give you a hand. I just lack the requisite parts that allow me to be considered a mutant."

[Stan Bowen]

"Sorry, sorry. it's such a common situation, it slipped my mind you were an uncommon case."

Stan then pulled out a file, detailing Sean's past and present abilities files.

"It's been quite a while since I've dealt closely with magical people... Back to my time in Canada, I think. Well, other then the new Captain Britain, I suppose. handy that she appears to live close by."

[Sean Hall]

The files themselves held to Sean's false power set in some detail. Quite likely with a new yet very brief note about his "newly discovered" magical abilities.

"Don't worry about it, Dr. Bowen."

There are to my knowledge not that many of us," Sean said, "Three on campus. One being Captain Britain. The others being Victoria and one other user whose name I don't know."

"I think that there is a bit of a difference between me and Captain Britain, but that might be something to save for later."

[Stan Bowen]

"All in its good time, then. I'll save the story of how a demigod was my best man at my wedding for another time."

Smiling, he stood up.

"We can start slow, work up to where you are comfortable."

[Sean Hall]

"I'll have to think of a suitable demigod related story so I can reciprocate," Sean smiled. "So what kind of testing did you have in mind?"

[Stan Bowen]

"Strength, speed, energy emission levels... Pretty simple stuff to start. I'll have you use your abilities, while observing you with passive and active scanners. It's things all my grad stunents have been through."

[Sean Hall]

"This is going to be quite the learning experience," Sean smiled. "I'll just warn you that if we you use audio recording devices they aren't going to last very long."

[Stan Bowen]

"Oh? how so?"

[Sean Hall]

"The language doesn't record well," Sean said, "I've tried to record it a few times but it always becomes distorted. Once it fried the recording device."

[Stan Bowen]

"hmm.. I'll work on it on my end, then.. If that means no sound, then no sound."

[Sean Hall]

"Quite," Sean said, "You're certainly welcome to find a way around it. I'm not even sure how the language works it simply does. Maybe it has to do with some innate talent. Maybe it's genetic. "

[Stan Bowen]

"Yeah, I'll give it my best shot. A little magic doesn't frighten this old guy. I've solved worse problems."

[Sean Hall]

"I appreciate all the help I can get," Sean said, "I've come this far just knowing what I should do. Magic is as easy as breathing and just as autonomic.""

[Stan Bowen]

"Then, let's figure out what you CAN do. Next week, Tuesday afternoon, my lab?"

[Sean Hall]

"I'll be there, make sure you equipment is ready," Sean smiled.

[Stan Bowen]

"Sounds good, Sean. See you then."
