He considered it. "I hadn't planned on it, but it's not ruled out. I mean... it's a good way to see Europe, right? But... not really a big following over on this side of the ocean. And the worst part about those trips was that it just got lonely after the novelty wore off."

Yeah, well, I didn't exactly follow roads. Of course, maybe that's easier in Europe? He shrugged. Don't know. I never really thought about it, honestly. I just figured "Hey, best way to go is a straight line. With... a detour here, and there, and over to that place that looks cool over there..."

Quite a while later, Ryan walked down the hall with her toward her dorm room, noting as he did that it was across the hall from his. "And here we are, safe and sound," he teased slightly.

Ryan smiled. "Well... if you really want to repay me..."

It probably wasn't as risky a move for Ryan, given how used to reading body language he was when it came to pretty women. But he still felt a little nervous as he leaned in and kissed her, very gently, letting his lips mold onto hers, opening just enough that she would notice that he hadn't tried anything, even though he could have, but letting her guess that the thought had been close to his mind. And too soon for his liking, and probably hers, he pulled back, smiling a little. "Goodnight, Rachel," he said, waiting for her to head inside. He was a gentleman, after all.
