A Tale of Two Wills

[Sara Stanton]

"Oh..." she says, trying to stay calm. "What kind of things?"

[Will Stanton]

"You know, some mild fatigue after doing a lot of stuff...or, oddly, after not doing anything at all for a while, chilling like this."

[Sara Stanton]

"Because you're still shifted when you look like this..."

[Will Stanton]

"Well, if that's true, then I'm always shifted, right?"

[Sara Stanton]

"I guess, yeah..."

[Will Stanton]

"So, that seems, uh, occupational hazard..."

[Sara Stanton]

"I'm sure we can find a way to fix that. The other mes just didn't try hard enough or were in too much of a hurry."

[Will Stanton]

"Fix it how?" Will said, confused.

[Sara Stanton]

"I don't know... Future me had some kind of serum but that had side-effects. I don't know what that other me did but it can't be good."

[Will Stanton]

"Yeah..."

[Sara Stanton]

"So we'll just have to do better than them."

[Will Stanton]

"What do we do?"

[Sara Stanton]

"I'm not sure... The tests we've done so far never showed anything being wrong, but maybe I haven't been looking for the right things."

[Will Stanton]

"Maybe something while I'm actively shifting? Compared to, uh...compared to something else?"

[Sara Stanton]

"Maybe, yeah. Though if the effects linger... We'll just have to run a whole bunch of tests."

[Will Stanton]

"Alright. Sounds like a plan."

[Sara Stanton]

"We'll figure what's going on. Together. I promise."

[Will Stanton]

"Together," he smiled.
