Onyx and Aly's Flat

[Onyx]

The game came to a close and Onyx was feeling a little sleepy herself.

"I suppose it is time for bed," Onyx says, "Do I need to take you home, Jez?"

[Jezabelle Sherlock]

For her part, Jez wasn't all that great at the game. She could get many of the technical questions right but anything dealing with entertainment, recent history or arts was pretty much out of her league. She was quick to clam up when Alyson glared at her, not wanting to explain that she wasn't trying to be creepy while Onyx was still in earshot.

[Alyson Gregory]

"I'm sure that Jez can find her own way home." Alyson said.

[Jezabelle Sherlock]

"Oh sure, absolutely." Jez agreed.

"Um... where am I? That would make things easier, yes."

[Alyson Gregory]

"University Housing."

[Jezabelle Sherlock]

"Oh, well then there should be a map in the lobby." Jez said.

"I guess I should be leaving. Thank you Onyx, for inviting me into your home. I had a lovely evening."

[Onyx]

"You're welcome," Onyx said, "Be safe going home."

[Jezabelle Sherlock]

Jez said her goodbyes and thanked Alyson for her hospitality as well before she turned and left the apartment, leaving the two love birds alone as she made her way, a little wobbly, back to her room elsewhere on the campus.

[Onyx]

Onyx began putting away the game board.

[Alyson Gregory]

"What were you thinking?" Alyson hissed once Jez had gone.

[Onyx]

"Excuse me?" Onyx asked in an annoyed tone.

[Alyson Gregory]

"You picked up some girl in a bar and brought her home." Alyson said, frighteningly quiet "What would have happened if I hadn't been here?"

[Onyx]

"We would have played a game or perhaps watched a movie," Onyx says, her voice sharp and annoyed, "Perhaps she might have been treated with a bit more friendliness and hospitality."

[Alyson Gregory]

"You invited someone that you'd just met into our home. After you'd gotten drunk with her. What if she'd decided she wanted to do more that play board games? If she'd been sent by people from Madripoor? What if she'd decided to hurt you? Or to force you?"

[Onyx]

"I would have snapped her neck," Onyx said in a matter of fact tone, "I am not some fragile doll."

[Alyson Gregory]

"Except when you think thats what you're supposed to do."

[Onyx]

"You think I would let some random stranger take advantage of me?" Onyx asked, "I have no contract with her. I am not marrying her. She is nothing to me but a potential friend."

"And I am not stupid enough to think that is what you are really worried about," Onyx said.

[Alyson Gregory]

"Yes, that is what I'm worried about." Alyson said "This could have gone wrong in a million different ways, all of them ending with you hurt."

[Onyx]

"Which means you either don't trust my strength or my judgement," Onyx says.

[Alyson Gregory]

"You got drunk with a complete stranger and then invited her back to your place." Alyson said "So in this case, no, I don't think you used good judgement."

[Onyx]

"I don't remember you complaining when I allowed a complete stranger to strap me down in the back room of a club," Onyx snaps at Alyson.

[Alyson Gregory]

"Every fucking day, I thank God that I was the one who found you." Alyson said "Do you have any idea what some of those sick fucks would have done to you?"

[Onyx]

"I probably have a better idea then you," Onyx says, "But I am not going to live in fear for what might happen."

[Alyson Gregory]

"I'm not saying you should live in fear." Alyson said "I'm just asking you to exercise a little bit of judgement before I have to identify your body."

[Onyx]

"I judged she was a nice person," Onyx said, "And you still don't trust me."

[Alyson Gregory]

"You judged that Victoria was a nice person too."

[Onyx]

"Victoria is a kind person and the closest thing I have to family," Onyx says coldly, "Do not speak badly of her."

[Alyson Gregory]

Alyson just rolled her eyes.

[Onyx]

Onyx turns away, "I am going to bed."

[Alyson Gregory]

"That sounds like a good idea." Alyson said heading to the closet where they kept the spare linens.

[Onyx]

Onyx ignored her and headed to the room. Obviously pretty angry.

Alyson made up a bed on the couch and settled down for a long night of pretending to sleep.
