June 12th - During the World Cup

[Wanda Johansen]

It hadn't taken word long to spread around about what was going on. Wanda stood in the Quad, staring in the general direction of the stadium as if she expected something to happen. Mentally, she didn't know what to expect, but felt like someone ought to be watching, even with all the security cameras and telepaths around the place.

[Tala Davis]

"Hey Wanda. Did you see the news?"

Tala came jogging out of Sydney and stopped at Wanda's side.

"Guess so."

She took a seat on the grass, deciding to sit watch with the other girl.

[Wanda Johansen]

"I didn't see it, but I heard what was going on," Wanda said, standing with her arms crossed.

[Tala Davis]

"They left the TV on, heard the noise from it thought it was just the Brits being Brits, World Cup and all. There's a cam still rolling over there, not sure how it started, but there's an X-men sized mess going down."

[Wanda Johansen]

"Yes," Wanda said, glancing down at Tala. "Have you been through a lot of these sorts of things?"

[Tala Davis]

"A few, mostly we hid, some of the Seniors and Juniors were offered special training if they wanted it and joined teams. I was better with the younger students. Mom and I kept them calm and safe. I was on a few missions, it's always messy in one form or another."

She brought her knees up to her chest.

"No need to hide now, no little ones to protect here. Only ourselves."

[Wanda Johansen]

"I think we'll be able to manage if that becomes necessary."

[Tala Davis]

"I know it, I just don't like it." She smiled UP at Wanda and lowered her legs, sitting Indian style.

[Wanda Johansen]

"No one says you have to," she smiled down at Tala.

[Tala Davis]

"Do you have any self defense training?"

[Wanda Johansen]

"Not really much more than you'd pick up scrapping with kids on the playground. I plan to work on that some soon."

[Tala Davis]

"It's always good to know how to throw a punch and how to avoid them as well."

[Wanda Johansen]

"Especially if people are going to be throwing punches at you."

[Tala Davis]

"Punch, punches, buses, book shelves." She chuckled.

"Some get creative, you just have to be more creative."

[Wanda Johansen]

"Never been hit by a bus. Almost was hit by a train once."

[Tala Davis]

"Never been hit by either, wouldn't recommend it to anyone else. Someone chuck it at you or just wrong place, bad time."

[Wanda Johansen]

"Right place, right time or wrong place, right time, depending on who you ask."

[Tala Davis]

"I'm asking you."

[Wanda Johansen]

"Right place, right time for the kids I saved, wrong place to keep my mutant powers quiet."

[Tala Davis]

"Stepping out your door would have done that, at least you did some good. You helped people, saved lives. That's worth a lot in my books."

[Wanda Johansen]

"I could pass off being tall as just unusual. Pushing a bus off the tracks is more than 'unusual'."

[Tala Davis]

"You're not just tall, you're REALLY tall. Granted, I'm tiny, but hun, trust me, you've got to be over seven feet. Six even is pushing it for most men. Heck, if we could meet in the middle with height, we'd both still be considered Amazonian Goddesses. Exotic beauties that can kick butt and take names. I just have to settle for being tiny and bitey."

She chuckled and grinned showing off her fangs.

[Wanda Johansen]

"7 foot 6 inches to be precise," Wanda said.

[Tala Davis]

"You hit 'em high, I'll hit 'em low."

[Wanda Johansen]

"Not like we have a choice on that front." She smiled.

[Tala Davis]

"I can be a pretty good climber when I have to be, I could always jump on people's heads from your shoulders. They'd never expect that, tiny death from above!"

Speaking of "from above" the vague shape of a dragon suddenly rose up out of the area where the stadium was and took off quickly after something.

"Ok..that was not a dragon? Was it?"

[Wanda Johansen]

Wanda peered at it, "Appears to be."
