"That's incredible," she said, watching her liquid copy move around. "How much water can you move around at once?"

"Quite a bit if I'm pushing myself. Not with this level of control, of course. That's more brute force. I used to be able to manage two constructs about this size and this articulation at once, but I'm out of practice." While she was talking, the construct remained perfectly still.

"Thank you," she said and the construct took a bow before collapsing back into the water.

"This is about all I can manage," she said, gesturing towards herself. "I can also turn into a regular-looking wolf. Can't really talk that way though."

"In a large portion of the world, yes, but the question is whether I'm near a large enough quantity unless I feel like rupturing pipes to get it."

“Well, that might be what you want in an offensive situation,” she said giving the closest approximation to a smirk that she could.

"Depends on whether you're trying to minimize collateral damage. Of course, this is a hypothetical giant robot fight we're talking about, so water damage is probably the least of someone's worries."

"True. Though speaking of it, they might want to start offering Collateral Damage Mitigation 101 as a course in the X-Teams department," she chuckled.

"Might save some money on liability insurance that way," Jennifer said with a laugh. The water splashed up into the air, spraying the both of them.

Stephanie recoiled a bit in surprise from the spray, and shifted back to human form. "Should probably not subject you to wet dog smell," she laughed. "And I don't even want to think about how much money the school pays for insurance."

Jennifer nodded, "Safer not to contemplate large sums of cash like that. Do you live here on campus or off campus?"

"I live on campus. It's a lot cheaper, especially when I'm going here solely through the generosity of the Institute and University. No family that's willing to pay for a freak to go to school, or do anything to help, if you know what I mean."

"Do I ever. My father's withholding any more funding until I prove I'm staying here and Mum couldn't afford to send me here, let alone help foot the bill for an apartment."

at least your parents still like you...acknowledge that you exist...

"There's plenty of odd jobs you can do around campus to make a few pounds at least."

"You'd probably be a popular bartender--attractive, friendly...icing on the cake would be if you were able to use your powers on booze to do trick pours. That would have to get you some big tips," she grinned.

"I think that would depend on how much water was in the alcohol. Although I might be able to manipulate it. Never really tried that."

"Let me know when you're thinking of giving it a try. I managed to con my way into filling in as a bouncer one night, so some of the managers know me, and not just as the werewolf that drinks a lot of their booze," she chuckled.
