DT7 - World Cup Viewing Fun

Postby Lora Zalesky » Sat Jul 23, 2011 12:29 am

Lora sat on a couch next to Gideon, legs crossed as she leaned against him.

"Meh, it is not hockey," she muttered, just low enough for him to hear. Of course, it was the only thing on any public television set anywhere in the country right about then. "I enjoy watching flatscans better if they are playing that."

Rachel glared at Lora briefly, and then turned her attention to the screen.

"You just enjoy watching flat scans beat the crap out of one another," Gideon said quietly, "I'm never going to understand this game."

"Its simple." Rachel said "you kick the ball into the opposing team's goal. And they try to stop you."

"It is fun when us non-flatscans play it too," she said, grinning. "I actually do pull for my home team in football, though." She leaned in close and whispered, "One of Ukraine's forwards is a mutant. Not that it helped us much this time, but still."

Gideon chuckled at Lora's comment.

"Why people enjoy watching it so much, the game moves so slowly without powers," Gideon said.

And a game it was! After a lot of kicking, and then some more kicking, and then even MORE kicking, the kicking grew to a fever pitch--and England scored!

Lora rolled her eyes, thinking something along the line of 'see if I help you with any Skrulls again,' but otherwise keeping quiet for the teep.

Still quiet, she only smirked at the goal.

Rachel swore at the English and their stupid goal scoring ways.

Gideon also rolled his eyes at the people are watching the game comment, as the sounds of the game were ever so important.

When England scored, Gideon smirked.

And that would be what the score at halftime was..

One for England, and none for Germany.

Two World Wars and One World Cup, Doo-Dah...

Gideon flicked to another broadcast of the world cup which was having the same problem.

"This is very strange..." Gideon said.

Lora leaned forward, watching. The guy who looked like Will wasn't the only one who seemed familiar, somehow...
