Tala slipped back into her room, closing her door and kneeling down to unharness Ren, who claimed the bed once she was released.

"Ok, Mister Cloud, we're going to have company again. You know how to behave. Do you think you can?"

"Another pink thing?"

"A human person, yes. Two of them actually."

"I am not to be touched."

"I promise, Cloud. You stay up there and they will not touch you, unless you come down and walk to them."

"He is such a chicken. It's not so bad being petted, it's actually quite lovely." Ren stretched and rolled onto the back on the bed.

"Quiet you worthless predator, I'm ashamed that we are on the same level of the food chain." Cloud growl and bared his fangs.

"You two stop, keep it up and I'll reconsider the promise I made about looking for mates for the two of you." both animals quieted down to annoyed grooming.

"Much better." Tala moved around the room cleaning up before Steph and Cassie arrived.

Tala tossed a few books on her desk and moved to the door.

"Cassie, you first."

She opened the door allowing the other girl in.

"Stay close to the door, just in case he get's moody."

Aolani was perched up in his tree and doing his best to be stunning and impressive.

"Cloud, Cassie. Cassie, Aolani or Cloud." He raised his head and actually looked at the girl, before he jumped down and sat himself at Cassie's feet.

"He says you may touch him if you like...among other things." She smirked.

Cassie crouched down and stared at Aolani for a moment.

She then poked him in the middle of the forehead.

Aolani didn't like that, he hissed and took a quick swipe at her before turning tail and running back up his tree.

"Well, that was unexpected."

Ren had rolled over on her back and actually looked like she was laughing.

"Oooh! Watch your language Cloud, please and you, don't make things worse." She turned to Ren who rolled on to her side at the scolding.

"I know it serves him right, for being snooty, but you did call him a chicken and goated him into it."

There was a growl from the tree.

"You were too being snooty, but thank you for trying, regardless of you true motive."

She smiled at Cassie.

"Welcome to the nut house."

There was the ghost of a smile on Cassie's face as she licks the scratch on her hand, "At least you won't be lonely."

Cassie shakes her head, "It's fine. Doesn't hurt."

"No...I guess the best way to put it is, you insulted him." She smirked and shrugged.

"At lease he feels that you've insulted him, but he has far to high an opinion of himself anyway, so don't worry. You mostly just caught him off guard, he was thinking you were going to fawn and gush over him and his superb coat. Instead, you booped him in the forehead. Ren loved it, so you get points there."

"Thanks, it'll take me a little while to get everything just right, but I like it. Your room will be basically the same dimensions, only you won't have the tree or the large cat box to clean." She chuckled.

"Not at the moment, it would take a very unique person to want to share with this lot, but if the faculty needs to put someone in here, I don't mind sharing."

"You've never had to share a room before? Just wondering." she moved over to her bed and sat. Ren hopped up and nosed her way over to the door.

"Thank you, little one." she smiled as Ren took a seat next to Cassie.

"She says you can touch her, she doesn't mind being poked, if that's what you prefer."

Cassie pats Ren on the head, "I had a few roommates at my last school. We didn't really get along very well."

"Shared a one room hut with my family, then a room with my brother until we were "too old" for that, then moved to the XI dorms and shared a room there. I learned fast that if someone annoys you, it's best not be stuck inside with them. I took walks, or runs, found quiet hidden places when I needed space and quiet."

Steph heard the door to Tala's room open. She closed the lid to her laptop, grabbed her keys, closed and locked the door, and walked just down the hall. She smiled at Cassie, as she left "See you around campus, Cassie."

"Your roommates ready, Tala?"

"Yup, all ready. Aolani's a bit grumpy so move carefully, Ren's in a good mood though." She smiled and gave a little shrug.

Stephanie followed Tala into her room, already noticing the smells of the animals. "This...is impressive," she said looking around at the room and its contents.

Both animals sat up in full attention and Tala moved in front of Steph.

"She's like Dad, same ability, she's also safe. I promise."

Aolani growled his ears flatening.

"Yes, I know, but only your pride was wounded. Please, just stay up there if you don't trust her."

Ren hopped off the bed, gave Cloud a glance then greeted Steph by sitting at her feet.

"Don't tease him, he's doing very well for having been near wild only 4 months ago."

Aolani climbed down the trunk of his tree and slipped into his "cave", grumbling the whole way.

Stephanie hung back and let Tala do her thing. It always impressed her, how well she could communicate with animals. That was really the hardest part of her time alone in the woods as a wolf--trying to figure out if she even could communicate.

She tried to appear non-threatening to Aolani, but apparently had rather limited success. She smiled, however, at Ren, and squatted down to pet him if he'd allow it. "Hi, Ren," she said cheerfully.

"Cassie greeted him with a poke between the eyes after he came down, he was a little high horsed about it though. He's still more then a little miffed." She sighed then smiled and sat in her bed again, leaving the chair at the desk open for Steph.

"He can still hear us. Steph's going to run with you two, so get a good nose for her. She'll mostly be keeping the late night students out of your way while you guys hunt." She mostly directed everything to Ren.

"Steph, how's your wolf, should I add another rabbit or would you prefer not to be distracted?"

Stephanie rose and claimed the seat offered.

"I haven't let her out for a real hunt in a while...but this is their night and I'm not much help keeping other people away when I'm involved. I'll go burn off some energy in the DR or something before tonight."

She looked at Ren and smiled, "I'll keep pesky students from bothering you guys tonight."

"But yes, focusing on keeping the students away would be best."

The fox nodded her head and moved over to her harness and leash that hung on the side of the desk.

"Let me change first, little Miss Impatience."

"Ugh, no thank you. The last time I indulged her to fresh food, I feel like I was finding rabbit fur stuck between my teeth for days," she laughed.

"Trust me I can imagine. I hate that moment when they go from rabbit to ex-rabbit." she made a face and pulled out her training uniform.

She first changed clothes then coxed Cloud out and into harness. Ren had managed to get her own head and one foreleg into the harness.

"You little goon. Steph, if you could grab that a small animal travel coop under the desk and we can head down."

Steph grabbed the container as directed, sort of looking over herself in the process to see if she was dressed for the occasion.

"Alright. Nothing on me that isn't easy to pull off or won't shift with me, so I think I'm prepared for everything that could possibly go wrong," she smiled.
