"My Dad, his first change, he couldn't come back, not for a long time. They had to lock him away so he wouldn't hurt someone. His dog was struck by a car and killed, that strong emotion triggered his first change..." She sighed sadly.

"It's common when it first happens. The freedom that comes once the animal is in control is too nice, no more worries, no more limitations put on you by society. It's so strong, people don't know how to handle the rawness of an animal, they're so detached from themselves. Animals have no inhibitions and humans have so many. Just look at what happens when people drink too much, finally inhibitions are dimmed, they're free for a time and they go crazy, some begin to like it so much the become alcoholics. Some can't come back and need help, some just don't want to."

Sean was quiet for a moment as took that in.

"Sounds like what happens to Americans when they get old enough to drink legally," Sean said, "I can imagine having a father whose gone through it was probably helpful too. Most people don't have that kind of support network that they can rely on."

"I've been very lucky, got the wild thing from both my parents." she chuckled and made a claw with her hand and playfully raked at him.

"Meow. Still, I try not to "wolf out" on people or too often, societies exceptions and all that. It's also a matter of manners. Just because my stomach growls doesn't mean I have to too, it's my mind and my body I control it not the other way around, but there's a time and a place for everything, I always make sure I take that time. Plus, my family avoids alcohol for the most part, like we need our inhibitions lowered farther."

Sean chuckled at the raking.

"Probably for the best because I think a bunch of drunken feral shifters could be considered a bad thing," Sean smirked, "I wish more people would take the opportunity to blow off steam."

"Slurred growling, 8 feet of tipping over werewolf, yeah, not pretty." She smiled. "Heck, at least acknowledge"it" whatever "it" is at the time. Yes, I see the big chocolate cake, I would like to strip naked and dive into it but that would be impolite. So, I will simple take a piece and eat it instead of wear it."

"And avoiding being arrested for ruining a perfectly good cake." She winked.

"You get the idea, besides I wouldn't ruin a cake like that, faceplant and eat until I was sick, yeah, that's more like me. I save my nude shenanigans for weddings and other formal events."

"That will certainly make the homecoming dance here interesting, I'll try to remember my camera," Sean smirked. "Though those must be some very accepting weddings you're participating in or you're the exception to the no drinking rule."

"Remember that formal dinner I mentioned. I was nervous as hell then a waiter dropped a platter in the kitchens, it was all over. My parent's wedding renewal, it was a clothing optional event. I wore flowers, though by the end my baby brother had pulled a good majority of them off while I was holding him."

It took a moment, but Sean recalled some American slang and the context certainly helped. Then began to chuckle.

"I think I get the general idea."

"That sounds somewhat awkward, what with family friends in attendance," Sean said, "Or perhaps I'm just a prudish Brit?"

"Growing up in a feral family." She shrugged and smiled.

"Goes back to that whole idea of inhibitions, I covered to be polite to others, not because I felt I needed to. Plus, I was more worried about keeping the flowers out of my brother's mouth. By the time I noticed that more skin was showing then I had first intended, my boyfriend had given me his jacket and was trying hard not to slip into "dude" mode."

"It helped that he was very aware that nearly every member of my family would have pulled off a limb and hit him with it if he had. It takes guts to date a girl like me." She chuckled.

"He had his moment when we slipped off during the reception. It was good, a little stifling, but good. It took some time to convince my parents that I could tare off limbs and beat boys away myself."

"Well, not fully, yet." She smiled.

"You can keep your limbs, but I doubt that you're harmless. You're straight and..." She closed her eyes and her body did a gentle shiver. When her eyes opened again the amber color hit an instinct in Sean that squeaked, "Oh gods, I'm dinner!" To make matters worse she licked her lips and fangs as she smiled.

"You have a female..." She shivered again, returning, but still grinning.

"Safe for now, but not totally harmless."

Sean stiffened at the transformation.

"My what big eyes you have," Sean said, "I'm dating somebody, don't know if she'd appreciate being called my female.

But how exactly did you figure that out?"

"Sorry, the language gets a little...primitive when I change." She tapped her nose.

"Your comments about my nudity assured me you were straight, the nose told me the rest. You are naturally attracted to me, but not completely. There always that little spike of male scent when a male is around a potential mate. It's unconscious, can't be helped. Your scent lacked the third spike of a male...on the prowl. You're not sending out the "come get me" scent, so that means you have a girl that you are completely attracted to. Lucky girl by the way."

"Personally I think I'm the lucky one, but thank you."

"You should've gotten here a couple weeks earlier, but I doubt a girl like you will be on the market long," Sean smiled.

If I had a nose like that it would've saved me some awkward moments back in secondary school, and when I was at the pub."

"Yes, it's handy, but it does have it's down side. I have to go all "foxy" and people tend to start looking like dinner." She gave him a wink.

"As for being on the market, I'm "different" when it comes to dating, aside form the "grr" factor, only time will tell."

"Well, it's hard to explain. Take my stand on nudity, I have no shame associated about my body, however it is mine. I guard it." She chewed her lower lip in thought.

"I suppose the best way to describe it is that I plan on mating for life. I don't know if the "wild" in me will make it that way, but for now it's a choice I've made. I believe in being monogamous, but I also believe that it is a choice made by the two people involved, until then I see no reason not to date around. If a guy who's taken me to lunch a few times wants to take another girl, that's fine so long as there's no physical intimacy on either side." She shrugged.

"Any of that make sense?"

"I think it does," Sean said, "You only want to be physically intimate with one person and expect that of somebody you're with. While you can be emotionally intimate with more than one person.

Is that about right?"

"It's...safer all around, you know. You can have many "I like you's" but when it begins to turn into "I love you", I like to know." She smiled.

"Now, keep in mind that's for males, females are a different issue, but basically I don't play games with people's emotions and I don't like games played with mine. Being empathic and feral, emotions can be deadly."

"Yes, I imagine there would be fur flying," Sean smirked. "I'm not big on emotional games either, they just lead to trouble down the road.

"Wise man." She nodded sagely.

"Drama is over rated, we get enough of it just existing. Anyway, thanks for making my first day a good one, maybe we can have lunch sometime, someplace nice and public, in full day light." She gave him a wink.

She's honestly the sweetest girl I've ever met despite her having the ability to end worlds," Sean smiled, "So far it has been like dating any other girl. At least so far. Dancing, dinner, and a night spent spelunking."
