"What the.."

Stan's old battle instincts come flooding back in a rush.

He steps into the path of the attacker, attempting to use leverage to force him to the ground.

Amanda hit the dumpster with a thud. She shook her head to clear it a little, her scales already starting to get darker and spreading to cover more of her body.

Without transforming, Stan's grapple is unable to best the superhuman agility and strength of his attacker. Even at his prime, Stan's skill alone wouldn't be enough to seriously slow down his attacker. Bowen catches a glimpse of a tongue sliding over needle-sharp teeth as the vampire grips his arm and reverses the throw. There's a good chance Stan's arm will break if he tries to lock it and stand his ground.

Stan crumples in a heap by the dumpster, his eyes darting from Amanda to the vampire and back.

No.. not again..

"Amanda.." he said, hoping to get her attention. "Cover your eyes.."

He then reached down inside himself, as he used to do a lifetime ago..

Amanda didn't respond, instead there was a low hissing from where she had been standing beside the dumpster. In her place was a creature half snake, half spider, a massive Lovecraftian nightmare of tentacles and eyes, green acid dripping from her maw and from the fangs that tipped 4 of her eight tentacles. These were the tentacles that flashed towards the vampire, while two of the remaining ones tried to grab it.

The transformation catches the vampire off guard, enough so that his efforts to dodge the incoming tentacles are thrown off. He manages to evade the acid attacks but one of the grabbing limbs wraps around an ankle. The vampire reaches down and digs powerful fingers into that tentacle, barely managing to free his leg but putting most of his effort into the attempt.

While the vampire was struggling to get loose, Amanda struck with the acid tipped tentacles again, and tried to wrap around his other leg with another grasping tentacle.

There is a bright flash, filling the alleyway with a white luminesensce.

In Stan's place now stands a humanoid form composed of dazzling white energy, which slowly rises to hover about a foot off the ground.

"Leave. Now." it says, in a deep, vibrating voice.

Having won his freedom, the vamp is very careful to avoid the gripping tentacles. Two of the acidic lashes create an acrid stench as they dissolve through his clothing and sear his skin. Stan's transformation into a glowing figure drives home the fact that the lone vamp has bitten off more than he can chew. He coils for a leap, judging the distance to get a good grip on the same fire escape he'd just descended.

"On second thought, stay awhile."

Stan gestures, releasing a spark to the vampire, turning his extremities into solid steel to throw off his leap, cauing him to crash back into the alleyway. He then gestures again, reforming the vampire to his original composition.

Stan's power hits the vampire's arms as intended, but it turns out the leap towards the fire escape was a feint; instead, he plows through a door in the alley, crumpling it off of it's hinges in a desperate bid to get out of the light. Amanda's gripping tentacles tear off weakened strips of clothing and raise brutal welts of acidic damage.

Amanda skittered toward the door, reaching in to grab the vampire. She managed to wrap a tentacle around his waist, pulling him back sharply through the door.

The vampire's fingers dig furrows through the wall and he catches the doorframe with both hands, resisting Amanda's pull with his own considerable strength. The building gives out before either fighter though, pieces of the frame flying as they are torn out. Such is the force of Amanda's grip that when the resistance vanishes, the vampire winds up pushed through the wall on the opposite side of the alleyway. He's heavily pulped in the assault, skin weakened by acid and skull crushed in from the impact.

Stan, meanwhile, floats down in front of the escape door, arms crossed.

".Shoot," He said, swooping in and checking for vitals.

Once Amanda could see that the vampire was incapacitated she shifted back, in a moment the nightmare beast was gone, and a small, dark haired woman was in the alley, kneeling on all fours, naked except for her scales and a yellowish-green ichor that coated her body.

Between massive blunt force trauma and acid burns, the major vital sign is the slowing of blood spurts. The foe is clearly dead within moments of falling still.

Stan shook his head, sad at the loss of life. Turning, he saw his companion's condition.

"Amanda.."

there was a second flash of light as Stan reverted to his real form. Removing his coat, he covered Amanda, providing some warmth.

He then retrieved his cellphone from his pocket, and hit the alert signal, notifying the other faculty of an emergency.

"Strong enough."

Looking around, Stan made sure there were no other surprises before turning back to Amanda.

"Is this something you'd like to keep secret?"
