June 1st - Mutant Studies Lab

[Sara Stanton]

Sara was in the labs, just finishing up some work for the approaching end of the semester.

[Stan Bowen]

Stan was in his office, going trough a stack of tests and papers he had been putting off for as long as possible.

[Sara Stanton]

Knocking on the door Sara steps inside.

"Professor Bowen? Sorry to add to the stack but I have my assignment done. And thanks again for the extension."

[Stan Bowen]

"Certainly, Sara.. It's been a busy and strange year. Even for Schools for mutants."

[Sara Stanton]

"Yeah, you can say that again. But I guess part of that is my own fault for marrying Will." she smiles.

[Stan Bowen]

"How do they say it.. He's your problem now?" He replied, smirking.

"You've been keeping up very well, under the circumstances.. you are my best researcher by far."

[Sara Stanton]

"Thanks..." she blushes, adding a mumbled "Though I've hardly been in the lab lately."

[Stan Bowen]

"Which just shows how good you are!"

Smiling, he got up for a break, and turned some knobs on a nearby control panel to keep a running experiment stable.

"Just keep your studies at the same level, and just about anything is possible for you."

[Sara Stanton]

She nods. "I'll try. Though 'anything' is really more Will's thing."

[Stan Bowen]

"Just in a different way, Sarah," he said, smiling.

[Sara Stanton]

Sara chuckles. "Well yeah."

"How are his experiments coming along anyway? He only ever tells me about the... practical side."

[Stan Bowen]

"That's what we've been focusing on for the past while.. composition, durable stress, testing limits. He's doing well.. I suspect he can do even better."

[Sara Stanton]

"Well I guess we already saw that he can... I'm just wondering if you've been getting any useful data out of it? Because all he tells me is along the lines of 'I figured out how to turn into a gas!'."

[Stan Bowen]

"Oh, lots. Especially where it relates to absorbing injuries.. certain mutant powers actually effect him as if he was in a normal state, rather then shifted to something tougher. It's very fascinating."

[Sara Stanton]

"Mind if I take a look?"

[Stan Bowen]

"Certainly. I suspect you'll find it as interesting as I did."

With that, he pointed to the data he'd collected concerning Izzy's and Will's experiments.

[Sara Stanton]

Sara leans in to look at the monitor, letting out the occasional "Huh..."

[Stan Bowen]

Stan nodded.

"Isabelle's power interacts very specially with Will- She can transfer injuries, even though Will can shake off most gashes and slices instantly. It's like she's transferring the the concept of an injury. Even so, Will can still recover- just taking much more time then usual."

[Sara Stanton]

"How odd. I wonder how much of that 'concept' is psychological on his or Izzy's part."

[Stan Bowen]

"I'd say her part.. Will didn't really acknowledge any blatent injuries- they were all transferred on the microscopic, crystalline level."

[Sara Stanton]

"So she can actually hurt him more than most things. Kind of."

[Stan Bowen]

"Exactly. It's something we should watch, and be careful with. I don't think Will is as aware at this point."

[Sara Stanton]

"Well no. If it doesn't help him do fancy new stuff he tends to not care that much about how things work."

[Stan Bowen]

Stan nodded, handing her a small scanner he had been working on.

"Keep this close, and use it every once in a while on Will. It will detect any buildup of microscopic injuries."

[Sara Stanton]

"Oh! That's a good idea."
