You've got (sentient) Mail

Postby ASHLIE » Mon May 30, 2011 1:25 pm

Dee's computer/iPad/Smartphone/Gadget lights up with an incoming message.

I require access to a robotic manufacturing arm.

Dee looked over when her latest welds were done.

"Oh, bloody hell."

The design was, all things considered, relatively benign. A huge amount of it's torso is taken up by a central computer, ventilation and a power core around which the rest of the design is centered. There's a series of attachment points along it and though it looks to be humanoid in principle the hard-points are embedded in a system of interlocking plates and machinery, allowing for a variety of different angles. As to what purpose isn't entirely clear since the proposed limbs are somewhat standard in their configuration, though they all seem to have micro-processors and wi-fi capability, probably for redundancy. Instead of any kinds of weapon they seem to be fitted with a wide array of sensors, another redundancy as the same systems are found in the head, with the addition of optical systems in the later.

All in all it seems fairly harmless (not counting the inevitable strength needed to move the metal frame), though the central CPU and energy source are embedded in a construction that would likely be able to withstand a lot of punishment.

From what I could tell it is the least intrusive to other autonomous systems' sensibilities and the core can be reconfigured should different requirements arise.
