Simon reached out and pulled Will close, squeezing the boy-made-of-clay in a strong hug. A hug stronger than he'd give a normal person, but Will was war from normal.

Simon picked through the clothes a bit, sorting out any more delicate items or things that needed to go through as a separate load, checking the pockets as he chucked them into the washer's drum.

"Obviously. Well I can understand why. But you can't let it go for too long Will. From what you told me, you're capable of some really amazing stuff in the future."

"Drill sergeants and coaches." Simon said. "Heavy, intense barrages pushing you to do your best in a safer environment. I mean, knowing you can do something is one thing, but knowing HOW you did it is another. Do you think you could do another engine right now, the same as you did before? If not then putting you or others in danger is not a reliable method."
