Rachel was laying on the hospital bed, dozing lightly thanks to the morphine.

Ryan had been by her bedside, since they'd let him in, and was, himself, tired enough that he was dozing on and off. "You forgot how things work," he sighed, after jerking awake again and looking at her. "I'm the one in the bed, you're the one in the chair."

Ryan gently reached for her hand, taking it without moving it. "If you want me waiting on you, you just have to ask, you don't need to get blown up," he teased, his tone betraying how shaken up this had him. Well, to Rachel it would show, at least.
