She grinned, and stalked off into the undergrowth.

Another beastie was not far from them, and she circled around, gauging her approach.

This time around Nailah made use of her wings, even if it was just to gain some height and cling to a tree with her claws buried in the bark before locating and climbing onto a sturdy enough branch. From there she was glancing down at Sam and the beastie.

Samantha broke from cover, darting at the beastie to draw its attention, then heading back towards the undergrowth to the side, keeping it focused on her as it turned.

And Nailah dove from the branch. There isn't much room to navigate through the foliage (much less quietly) but she's hoping the creature is focused enough on Sam that it won't notice her descent.

Samantha did a few swipes at the creature to keep its attention, continuing to draw it about to expose its flank to Nailah.

And Nailah takes the opportunity, at the last moment fully opening her wings to bring her legs forward. Claws extended she slams into the beastie's side, knocking the wind out of her a little, but her hands grab on to it's back as her claws slice through the creatures hide.

The beastie reared back at the sudden attack, exposing its belly and throat to Samantha.

It was an opening she took advantage of... messily.

Having learned her lesson Nailah jumped off of the rearing (and ultimately toppling) creature. The landing could probably have been a bit more graceful though as she's taken by surprise by the amount of blood suddenly spilling from the beastie.

Panting with adrenaline as the beastie finally falls, a somewhat spattered Samantha looked up at Nailah from a crouch, clearly enjoying herself.

"I see you saw the opening I'd intended."
