May 19th: The Genoshan Embassy

[Narrator]

The Genoshan embassy was located on a strip with a number of other embassies in a very nice part of town.

As it turns out, they were right next to the Japanese embassy, a simple random location.

The JAPANESE embassy had a not insignificant number of protesters outside....uh...protesting. The signs had a number of anti-mutant slogans and there were some chanting and things, but nothing too violent as of yet.

[Ayami Morita]

"Oh, what the crap is this," Ayami fumed, as she tried to get into the Genoshan embassy for work.

"Fuck off, people!"

[Jezabelle Sherlock]

Jezabelle stepped out of a black cab, retrieving her briefcase and a large pink box with a label of a nearby bakery on it. She regarded the crowd with a little wariness, although relieved that the demonstrators weren't protesting in front of the Genoshan embassy as she had originally thought. She approached Ayami from behind as the girl vented her displeasure.

[Ayami Morita]

"I mean, look at that shit. It's ridiculous," she fumed.

[Jezabelle Sherlock]

"True, but they have the right to do it. And a mutant girl yelling obscenities at them isn't going to help matters much."

[Ayami Morita]

"Makes ME feel better," she smirked.

"Sorry, I'm just getting all that. Like, in my head."

[Jezabelle Sherlock]

"Oh, right." Jez said softly. "Sorry, sometimes I forget that so much negative energy can seep it's way into you."

She set her briefcase down and opened the box of donuts, offering them to the rainbow-haired girl. "Here, first choice. Powdered sugar is guaranteed to make you happy. Unless you're diabetic."

[Ayami Morita]

"Oh! Oh, thanks," she smiled, taking a powdered sugar one. "Let's get into the building and away from the...the riff-raff."

[Jezabelle Sherlock]

"Yeah, good idea." Jez nodded, securing the donuts and retrieving her briefcase. "We don't want to get involved in this. We have to avoid anything that would look poor for the embassy and, by association, Genosha."

[Ayami Morita]

"Oh, I could give 'em something that looks poor..." she grumbled.

[Jezabelle Sherlock]

Jez gave Ayami a disapproving finger waggle.

"No, that would be bad. And bad girls don't get donuts."

While in Cassiel's presence she seemed very formal and precise, now that they were on the street Jez had a much more relaxed attitude.

[Ayami Morita]

"Bad girls get ALL the donuts," she smirked.

[Jezabelle Sherlock]

"Nooooooo." Jez held the box possessively. "I need some of these for Lord Cassiel. Otherwise I wouldn't be a good secretary."

[Daniel Uriel]

"She's gotta keep sucking up so she can stay in charge," Daniel said as he landed in front of the gate, looking distastefully at the crowd. "What do you think, Boss Lady? Want me to chase 'em off?"

[Jezabelle Sherlock]

"Oh, and I suppose you can type 300 words per minute too, hmm?" Jez said in a cocky fashion. Ten hands on five keyboards did make for some quick paperwork.

"I think that'd be a very bad idea. They're not doing us any harm other than being an annoyance. They're not even protesting at our embassy. Poking the hornet's nest would only make things worse and look poorly on our nation."

[Daniel Uriel]

"Yeah, true. Might as well let them keep making theirs look bad," Daniel agreed.

[Ayami Morita]

"And they're doing a damn good show of it."

[Jezabelle Sherlock]

"Yeah. As tempting as it is to teach them a lesson, we've gotta think about everyone back home first. Diplomacy is such a tricky game, any bad press could totally muck up all sorts of negotiations."
