May 19th: Early Afternoon - Cafeteria

This would be the first time in awhile Kaylee had actually left her room in weeks. She snagged a small lunch and sat down at one of the tables. She meant more time poking at it than actually eating anything.

She lifted her gaze to focus on John. What he said made her smile and she just looked back down at her food. "I guess you could say that in a way.."

She stayed silent for a moment then sighed. "I haven't actually. Well, I'm kinda feeling better now..but shortly after you got back I got pretty sick."

"I know right?" She set her fork down and leaned back a little. "Me too. Anyway..it just kinda scared me. I don't think I've been sick since before my mutation popped up."

"Well, I got in contact with Muir Island and had some tests run. Supposedly, nothing was out of the ordinary..so who knows what's up exactly." She reached out at and placed her hand on top. "Sorry I didn't really tell you...my powers have always came along with all sorts of fears."

She shrugged. "It's okay. So.." She smiled, glad they didn't go too much into it. "How was the future anyway? You didn't tell me much about it."

"It was a nightmare. Those of us that were still around... I barely recognized them. I mean, Will Stanton was a hard-ass."

He didn't want to tell her she was a terrorist, even though many they all were. Nor did he want to spoil anything and tell her they had been married.

She sighed. "Sucks..and here I was expecting the world to of accepted us and we'd all be living in harmony." She chuckled. "Will..a badass? Were you sure that was the right place?" She teased.

"Uh..oh. I'm sorry.." Though that sounded really weird to say. "Anyway...were things better after you all left? I suppose that's all that matters. Oh. And that we make sure that future doesn't happen." She said in a matter-o-factly tone. She stood up and leaned over to give the lizard a soft kiss on the lips. "I don't know what I'd do without you around."

"Good!" She folded her arms on the table after sliding her food out of the way. She wasn't too hungry after all..which was pretty weird for her. "How do I get started?"
