May 11th: Rainbow Lunch

[Ayami Morita]

Ayami was having lunch, thinking.

Renko walked away from the one of the counters, and put a hand over his mouth as he yawned. Seeing an empty seat at Ayami's table he headed over.

"This seat taken?" Renko asked.

[Ayami Morita]

"Not at all," she smiled. "Please, sit down."

[David Renko]

Renko took a seat, and tried to stifle another yawn.

"Sorry," Renko said sheepishly before reaching for his cup of coffee, "How have you been Ayami?"

[Ayami Morita]

"Getting sleepy now that you're here," she teased.

[David Renko]

Renko looked rather embarrassed as he drank some of his coffee.

"Sorry," Renko said, "I gave my two weeks to the school maintenance group, and they decided to get their moneys worth by having me fix the burned out apartments."

[Ayami Morita]

"Eesh. That sounds patently horrible."

[David Renko]

Renko shrugged.

"Yeah, but nobody else can do it," Renko said, "At least not nearly as quickly."

[Ayami Morita]

"So? Not like they're going anywhere."

[David Renko]

"That...is a very good point," Renko said, "I guess I was just tying to think the best of them."

[Ayami Morita]

"Well, you shouldn't. They're using you, you should stand up for yourself!"

[David Renko]

"Well, you shouldn't. They're using you, you should stand up for yourself!"

"Also, a good point," Renko said, "Maybe in a couple more days after the apartments are fixed."

[Ayami Morita]

"Oh, sure, wait until after they're done using you," she smiled.

[David Renko]

"If there's one thing I'll procrastinate it's confrontation," Renko said before drinking more coffee.

[Ayami Morita]

"Well, you are making your own bed."

[David Renko]

"And far too lazy to unmake it," Renko said wryly, "But once that's done I can spend more time working in the shop, and on research. Maybe even throw a night off or two in there."

[Ayami Morita]

"Sound like a plan, if you ask me."

[David Renko]

"Yeah, some free time would be nice," Renko said, "Being able to mess with time only gets you so far unless you want to risk tearing a hole in reality."

[Ayami Morita]

"...don't do that."

[David Renko]

"I'll try my best not to," Renko said, "Don't see the appeal of ending reality. Never really understood why so many villains try to do it either."

[Ayami Morita]

"Nihilists, mostly."

[David Renko]

"Nihilists, mostly."

"Never understood nihilists, so that's probably why," Renko said.

[Ayami Morita]

"Well, life sucks, so therefore it must suck for everyone, and so on."

[David Renko]

"Well, life sucks, so therefore it must suck for everyone, and so on."

"Of course," Renko smirked. "I mean who could ever be happy if I were miserable?"

[Ayami Morita]

"See, you're catching on."

[David Renko]

"Slowly, but surely I'm proving that anybody can be taught," Renko smiled.
