Lora sat at the bar, legs crossed, enjoying an afternoon drink and watching football on TV.

Gideon walked up behind Lora, and gave her a quick kiss before sitting down to order a drink.

"Is this the part where I say I don't get soccer?" Gideon asked with a smirk.

"Do any Americans?" She grinned. "It is not my favorite, but, you know. 'Tis the World Cup season."

"That it is," Gideon said, "But for an American I'd say I fared pretty well in my first major soccer exposure, other than worrying about getting killed by the soccer ball if Ronnie had gotten another kick in."

"Only if I'm dreaming and this has become a movie," Gideon said, "Though if I've just doomed us all then at least I'll have you here with me, Дорогая моя."

"No, it will be a slow doom. But rest assured that our odds of getting through the finals in peace are almost nonexistent. Not that they were very high to begin with. So, are you looking forward to what happens after the exams as much as I am?"

Gideon paused for a moment to take a sip from his drink.

"I am really looking forward to our trip. A bit of time away from campus will be good for both of us."
