Previous to this Nailah had tried to convince herself she wouldn't allow herself to be distracted by checking on Sam but now that she's in the middle of it she finds it hard to even focus on anything else but the sensations produced by the ritual.
Eventually, Nailah sinks down on one knee and holds her staff up over her head with both arms.
"Dewa-netjer maa'k, kher hewet-ek, iret-ek sekat re'it, abed-ek in netjer-sen re'it.
Tepey ent pet, wadj ent kemet, aped ent mew.
Dewa netjer-sen re'it, a'nekh Tawey. Aq're'it aat pet, pet a'q re'it.
Dewa hewet-netjer Sekhmet, nebet nekhtew, imey-er maa'et, iret Ra."
"Praise to the lord of truth, whose shrine is hidden, from whose eyes mankind issued, and from whose mouth the gods came into being.
As high as is the heaven, as broad as is the earth, as deep as is the sea.
Praise to you who created the gods, he who lights the two lands. Open the doors of heaven, throw open the sky to me.
Bless this temple of Sekhmet, the Lady of Flame, Arbiter of Order, the Eye of Ra."
For a split-second Nailah's body almost seems to shine brightly as the gathered energy coalesces inside the room and is woven and bound inside the temple, settling into place over the prepared geometry formed by the decorations and inscriptions. And then Nailah kind of slumped, though she is still holding herself up for the most part, one hand braced against the floor.
